The Cleveland Browns Might Not Be Leaving The Country After A Huge Statement Was Made On Tuesday
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns are one of the youngest and brightest upcoming teams in the NFL, and after a great 2023 season where the Browns saw injury after injury and made the playoffs, many people can’t wait to watch them this season on the national stage.

Cleveland Browns Were Rumored To Open Up In Brazil

A few months ago, the NFL announced that the Philadelphia Eagles would open up their season in a Week 1 Friday night matchup in Brazil, making it the first NFL game in the country.

Many rumors have been flying around the past few months that the Cleveland Browns could be the team that would face them in Brazil since the Browns fit all the boxes. The Browns play the Eagles on the road this year, and the Brazil game is an Eagles home game. The Browns haven’t played a game outside of the United States since 2017.

The Green Bay Packers Might Be Playing In Brazil Week 1

The Browns might’ve just lucked out of being part of the Week 1 Brazil game, and a tweet from Rob Demovsky, who covers the Green Bay Packers, stated, “Based on Packers president Mark Murphy’s comments this morning, it sounds like they’re preparing to open the season in Brazil against the Eagles.”

“Speaking before the annual Tailgate Tour departed, Murphy said: “We’re either the first- or second-most popular team in Brazil.”

The Browns Should Be Happy To Not Open Up In Brazil

It sounds like the Browns will not be playing Brazil right now, but it will be the Green Bay Packers. Still, the NFL has yet to confirm anything, so at the moment, it is just all speculation. Still, the Browns should be happy they might not be going to Brazil because who wants to open up their season Week 1 on a Friday night in Brazil when you could maybe open up at home in Cleveland, Ohio?
