  • Brandon Weeden played like a 28 year old 1st round draft pick, and that’s a compliment. He broke rookie QB passing records, and that list includes Bernie Kosar, Brian Sipe, Otto Graham and Eric Zeier to bring the list and the accomplishment back to reality. I was one of the biggest screamers that if he did not improve he would have to get yanked by week 6.  After a 26-37 322 yds. 70.3 percent of passes and a 114.9 quarterback rating, maybe he has something.

  • Trent Richardson may have just hit the on switch to his NFL career. The game against the Eagles Trent seemed tentative, this game he cut, and he used his compact muscular frame for leverage as he spun his away to passing and rushing TD’s another accomplishment never done by a Browns player.  19 carries for 109 yds. (5.7 average) 1 TD 4 catches 36 yds. 1 TD. This is just the beginning for Trent Richardson; I expect big things from him in the coming games

  • I can say this about the front office, when they said that Mohammad Massaquoi was ready. They were not lying. 5 catches for 90 yards and always seeming to be in the right place at the right time. Greg Little stepped in and made some contributions with 5 catches for 57 yards and a 1 TD. Josh Gordon was nonexistent. Travis Benjamin is a threat on sweeps. But the big question is where is Josh Cribbs?

  • The Cleveland Browns played without Joe Haden or Sheldon Brown in the game and it showed big time. Buster Skrine has no business playing as much as he did in this game. I would rather see Trevin Wade playing in that position. Skrine was bullied and pushed around all game. Skrine and Patterson gave 10 yard cushions all game which allowed for quick slants and a lot of space for running backs to reach the second level. Horrible performance overall from the secondary. To make matters worse is that even with a 10 yard cushion the Browns secondary gave up a lot Big Plays. How does Dimitri Patterson line up off sides twice? TWICE

  • The defensive line is giving some good pressure up front, they were the strength of the team and they really play up to that level. Once Phil Taylor returns this young athletic group is going to be a wrecking crew. I am overly impressed with the Defensive line.

  • The linebackers are suspect, they play respectable but are not fast enough to fill the holes and usually catch the running back 4 yards down field before they can make a tackle, and they usually ride the guy instead of standing him up. Thank Goodness for DQwell Jackson.

  • Special Teams, you are not a threat on kick returns at all. Josh Cribbs you pitty pat your way to the hole. I remember you said to be successful returning kicks you have to run as fast as you can to the hole and use your momentum. You did not do that this game. Did we even get a punt return? The kickoff to start the game is no way to start a game. It killed us, yes we had chances but Cleveland is not good enough to overcome big plays like that.

  • Why is Owen Marecic on this football team? I could not believe I was screaming for Brad Smelley during the game.  At least let Alex Smith play in that package because Owen is horrible. Alex Smith did make some nice catches during the game. Ben Watson was a no show and w here is Jordan Cameron, they hyped this guy all last season and this Training Camp but the guy can’t get on the field

  • Penalties played a big part in the loss, 10 for 103 yards is not the way to be successful in the NFL.  With the score 10-17 Bengals winning, and 3:48 on the clock Brandon Weeden checked down to Chris Ogbonnaya and he fumbled the ball away after a 21 yard gain. Although we did not give up a score, it took away a big play and made it a turnover.

  • I am impressed overall with some of the performance of the team. I can definitely see some improvement, and then there are the areas where I know that no matter what we do as team, there will be no success because of the lack of talent on the team.

  • I really like Dick Jauron as the defensive coordinator. This team needs some free agent spark and two more drafts to get us to Super Bowl caliber, which is where we want to be as a team. If Jimmy Haslam follows the Steelers way and build through the draft, it’s going to take a few years because we need some playmakers and depth badly.

Browns DB Sheldon Brown was Active to Keep Streak Alive

Cleveland Browns veteran cornerback Sheldon Brown was active on Sunday, playing one play, which kept his consecutive games played streak in tact at 162. Missing most of the week’s practices due to a shoulder injury, Brown did not start in Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals; second-year cornerback Buster Skrine drew coverage opposite of Dimitiri Patterson. Taking up one...

Despite improved offense, Browns lose to Bengals 34-27

The Browns ran into a Bengals team with some good offensive playmakers, and ultimately couldn’t stay out of their own way to win it. The three big storylines of the Browns game today will be special teams, replacement defensive backs and penalties even though it could have been Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson. Unfortunately, the Browns weren’t able to overcome their mistakes...

Browns’ Young Secondary Still Has Potential Despite Rough Day

There’s no other way to say it than to say that the young guys were overwhelmed yesterday. Trevin Wade got torched. Buster Skrine seemed overmatched and chasing. Eric Hagg played pedestrian when he wasn’t giving up his own touchdown. Look, it’s difficult to lose your top two cornerbacks in between week one and week two of an NFL season. No matter how much planning you do to...

Browns' Jackson off to a fast start

BEREA Despite the Browns being winless in two games, team captain DQwell Jackson is off to arguably the best start of his seventh NFL season. He had a career best three sacks against the Bengals, three QB hurries, two tackles for loss, as well as an interception. Jackson has an interception in each game, as well as a fumble recovery to go with his eight tackles. Jackson didnt know...

Dalton throws 3 TDs, Bengals beat Browns 34-27

Not even a breakout game by Cleveland's rookie playmakers could change the outcome of Ohio's intrastate series. Adam ''Pacman'' Jones returned Cleveland's first punt 81 yards for a touchdown Sunday, and Andy Dalton matched his career high with three touchdown passes, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a 34-27 victory in their one-sided rivalry. The Bengals...

Brandon Weeden Sets Browns Rookie Mark for Passing Yards

From the Browns- “Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden completed 26 of 37 passes (70.3%) for 322 yards and his first two career passing touchdowns. He finished with a 114.9 rating. His 322 passing yards were a Browns rookie record surpassing the previous mark of 310 set by Eric Zeier at Cincinnati on October 29, 1995.” MOST PASSING YARDS IN A GAME BY A BROWNS ROOKIE      ...

Cleveland Browns Curse: Brandon Weeden Fails To Stop The Bleeding

It's another gloomy day in Cleveland. After Sunday's road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns drop to 0-2 on the year. For most teams in the NFL, this wouldn't be any reason to press the panic button and jump ship. But the Browns have now lost their last eight contests, dating back to November of last year when they won a nail-biter over the Jacksonville...

Browns’ Weeden, Richardson take first steps down the yellow brick road

Dorothy once found herself stranded in a new land with no family or friends. All she wanted to do was go home. But she didn’t know how to get there. She was shown a yellow brick road with the answer to her desire at the end of it. The only way to get home was to take that first step. Along the trip, she picked up life lessons and friends to help her get home.  The 2012 Cleveland...

Richardson and Weeden complete rare feat

Cleveland Browns 1st-round picks Trent Richardson and Brandon Weedenpulled off a rare feat for a pair of rookies on Sunday afternoon against the Bengals. Hopefully Weeden isn't the next Tony Banks They became the first pair of rookie teammates to throw for 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in the same game since 1996. The down side to this accomplishment? The previous duo doesn’t...

Browns move ball but defense dominated by Bengals

“The Browns’ young secondary battled, but was strained by the loss of Haden to his suspension and Brown to a neck stinger.” — Mary Kay Cabot “Last week [against the Ravens] was just bad. This week some of the [Browns' longer gains] were checkdowns that we missed.” — Bengals cornerback Leon Hall “I wish I had a dollar for every hour I put in this week.” — Brandon...

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Hero and Zero of the Game

In a game that was supposed to be one of the more boring games in the NFL this week the clash of Ohio turned out to be a high scoring barn burner.  Both teams wanted to come out and show that last weeks performances were just anomalies and they could really play. In a game with many heroes and no zeros I thought we would do an ode to Hockey giving out the three stars of the game...

Bengals defense shredded in first 2 games

The Bengals' defense is off to one of its worst starts in years. Cincinnati (1-1) is ranked No. 30 in the NFL after two games, and that very bad number doesn't even begin to measure how bad the defense has been. The Bengals are giving up more than 8 yards per first-down play, the worst in the league. During a loss at Baltimore and a win over Cleveland, the Bengals allowed...
