The NFL’s Week 15 was kind of a dud. The top-billed games really didn’t live up to the hype, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t drama. Hopefully, there wasn’t any drama in your fantasy football playoff matchup. This morning we’ll give you a little recap of yesterday with Five of the Biggest Losers. You better believe there were some serious losers yesterday too. Amazing losers… Hit the jump to check ‘em out… 5.) Norv Turner and the San Diego Chargers I wrote this post late Sunday night so by the time it airs Norv Turner could be a goner. Well, not really because they’re waiting until the end of the year, but no coach deserves to be fired more than Norv after the latest embarrassment. Cam Newton and the 4-9 Panthers beat the Chargers like they were a college football team. Yeah, the Chargers were a big loser yesterday, but they may be the biggest losers all season.

San Diego Chargers: 5 Things on Their Holiday Wish List

The holiday season is, once again, upon us, presumably leading NFL fans everywhere to ponder what their favorite team(s) might be hoping for next season.1. For the sake of redundancy, I will lump the obvious ones together: an improved offensive line, a new general manager who does not subscribe to A.J. Smith's end-of-season-fire-sale mentality; and a head coach who isn't...

REPORT: Chargers Ryan Mathews Out for the Remainder of the Season

Per Rob Kelley of the Pigskin Report, San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews is out for the rest of the season with a broken left clavicle. This was not the same injury he sustained during the preseason, where he broke his right clavicle. This is just the latest injury for Mathews who has been plagued by numerous injuries during his short three year career. Since 2010, Mathews...

NFL Injury Report: San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews breaks another clavicle

The San Diego Chargers are a team in a state of flux currently, but one of the biggest question marks surrounding the team is whether or not RB Ryan Mathews is a NFL caliber running back. Mathews was selected by the Chargers as the heir-apparent replacement for LaDainian Tomlinson, after the club moved up in the draft to select him. He came with an impressive resume, but he is now...

Chargers Injury Report: Eddie Royal, Ronnie Brown, Demorrio Williams

The San Diego Chargers have ruled linebacker Demorrio Williams out for today’s contest against the Carolina Panthers, while running back Ronnie Brown is doubtful and wide receiver Eddie Royal is questionable. Brown didn’t practice all week after suffering a hamstring injury during last weekend’s victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The backup running back, who’s...

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews broke his left clavicle during yesterday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers and will be out for the remainder of the season, reports Michael Gehlken of the U-T San Diego. Ryan Mathews broke his left clavicle. Broke right clavicle in preseason. Out for year. — Michael Gehlken (@UTgehlken) December 17, 2012 Mathews rushed four times...

Report: Chargers RB Ryan Mathews Done For The Season

Michael Gehlken reports that Chargers RB Ryan Mathews is done for the season after he suffered a  broke his right collarbone during Sunday’s loss to the Panthers. This is the second time he’s broken his collarbone this season, all be it this time it was the other side. Mathews’ 2012 season has been as disappointing as any, and there’s certain to be question about his future...

Carolina Panthers versus San Diego Chargers point spread, line and odds

The Carolina Panthers will play against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Scheduled for a 4:05 pm EST kickoff this game will air on FOX from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Both teams could look quite different next season. Reports suggest that Chargers coach Norv Turner is set to be fired along with general manager AJ Smith. The Panthers have already made a move to replace their...

Player Profile: Curtis Brinkley (RB, Chargers)

Ryan Mathews went down with his second broken collarbone of the season. That means the running back situation in San Diego is opened up. Their stable includes Curtis Brinkley, Jackie Battle, and Ronnie Brown. After Mathews went down last week Brinkley was the most productive of the group. He tallied 6 carries for 42 yards [...]

Panthers Rout Chargers 31-7: Five Things We Learned

The Carolina Panthers "Chargers East" embarrassed the San Diego Chargers, 31-7 on Sunday. San Diego has been on a downward spiral since the week six Monday Night Football "double-header" versus Denver by losing to Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Denver (again), Baltimore, and Cincinnati. The team has only bested Kansas City (really, who hasn't), and, frankly, surprised...

Panthers knock Chargers out of playoff picture

SAN DIEGO - In a season of lows, the Chargers hit their lowest point Sunday. In one of their worst performances, San Diego lost out on its slim chance for a playoff berth after being pounded by the Carolina Panthers 31-7. "We did a great job of starting fast and getting in a groove of things very early," said quarterback Cam Newton, who completed 19 of 33 passes for...

Panthers 31, Chargers 7

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers killed their slim hopes for a playoff berth with one of their worst performances of the season. Two touchdown passes by Carolina quarterback Cam Newton and two rushing scores by fullback Mike Tolbert boosted the Panthers to a 31-7 victory Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. The loss officially ended San Diego's bid for the postseason. It's...

This Is One Of The Best Redskins Offenses Of All Time For Real

The 2012 Redskins have already scored more points than any Redskins team in 13 years, which is not something I was expecting to write about the 2012 Redskins. And if you chalk that 1999 season up as some sort of strange Norv Turner fever dream, then the Redskins haven’t scored like this since ‘91, a season which prompted me to buy a Zubaz-billed Super Bowl hat. These Skins are...
