Found January 10, 2012 on Giants Football Blog:
The Packers entered the year with what was being called the best group of receivers the NFL had seen since the 2000 St. Louis Rams’ “Greatest Show on Turf.” The Giants on the other hand entered the year with question marks surrounding their passing game. Steve Smith had been their best receiver and had left New York for the “Dream Team.” Add the Jets signing Plaxico Burress from right underneath the noses of Giants management and you have complete disarray. Fast-forward to the end of the 2012 season. The Giants finished 5th in the NFL in passing yards per game at 295 yards. Only two spots behind the Green Bay Packers who finished with 300.5 passing yards per game. The Packers top two wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings finished with 1263 yds/15 tds & 949 yds/9 tds respectively. The Giants top receivers surpassed the Packers yardage totals but fell short in touchdown receptions. Victor Cruz ended the year with 1536 yds/9 tds, while Hakeem Nicks totaled 1192 yds/ 7 td...

Giants LB Chase Blackburn Was Teaching Middle School Math in November

Chase Blackburn has been the Giants’ leading tackler the past four games, which isn’t too bad for a guy who was teaching middle school math seven weeks ago. Blackburn was signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Akron in 2005. He played six seasons with the team, recording 210 tackles, four safeties, and two interceptions. But after the lockout, the Giants declined...

Tuesday Morning Report: Gearing Up for Lambeau

The Giants were back at TIMEX yesterday, one day after they dismantled the Atlanta Falcons in the WildCard round of the NFC Playoffs.  The team suffered two injuries: concussions to CB Aaron Ross and RB DJ Ware. “Ross and Danny Ware are going through the process in regards to concussions,” Tom Coughlin said. They actually felt pretty good at the conclusion of the game when we...

Ross doing 'fine' after possible concussion

The Giants need as many healthy defensive backs as they can find on Sunday when they play the Green Bay Packers, and it looks like one of them will be Aaron Ross.   Ross “should be fine” after suffering a possible concussion against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and might even be available to ...

Rolle not overly impressed with Packers

Apparently it takes more than a 15-1 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs to impress Antrel Rolle, who said several times Wednesday that he puts no team "on a pedestal."

Beyond Rodgers lies respect

You ask Eli Manning if he ever guaranteed a victory in his life, and he looks at you as if he’s being asked to run a quarterback draw against the Ravens, up 20 points with a minute left. “No, I don’t think so,” Manning said Monday.

Punter’s plan is out of bounds

If a punter can toss a shutout — actually, it would be kick a shutout — then Steve Weatherford did it in last week’s 24-2 playoff beatdown of the Falcons. Now he’s looking to do it again against an even better return man.“It’s the NFL, so every single...
