Teams are expressing interest in in Charles Woodson this offseason, but it appears to be a lot of tire kicking. There is a new team getting into the mix with feelers, and it is the New York Giants according to Woodson’s agent Carl Poston via Josina Anderson: Just received another Charles Woodson update:”The Giants have just put their toe in the water again for Charles Woodson.” –Carl Poston. — Josina Anderson (@JosinaAnderson) May 16, 2013 Woodson recently visited with the Denver Broncos, but failed to reach a deal with them. The Raiders, who originally drafted Woodson, expressed interest in him returning. Most scouts no longer see Woodson as cornerback in the league, but still see him as being able to impact a defense from the safety position. The Giants would actually be a seemless transition for Woodson if he wants change positions. Perry Fewell’s defense utilizes 3 safeties in order to keep more speed on the field when playing against teams in 3 and 4 receiver sets. The Giants also lost Kenny Phillips to free agency this past season, and while Stevie Brown filled in nicely last year, his coverage skills aren’t necessarily the best.
