Tom Brady and the New England Patriots hosted the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium and routed the Texans. In what looked to be a great matchup turned into a slaughter in the first half of the game and the Texans never recovered. Now the question becomes how do the Texans recover from yet another thrashing by an elite quarterback?   FINAL SCORE: Texans 14 Patriots 42   TEXANS REGULAR SEASON RECORD: 10-2 TEXANS DIVISIONAL RECORD: 3-0 TEXANS AFC CONFERENCE RECORD: 8-1 TEXANS VS NFC CONFERENCE RECORD:  2-1   GAME SUMMARY Texans Total Yards: 323 Patriots Total Yards: 419   Texans Passing Yards: 223 Patriots Passing Yards: 289   Texans Rushing Yards: 100 Patriots Rushing Yards: 130   Texans TOP: 29:11 Patriots TOP: 30:49   GAME HIGHLIGHTS   THE GOOD The best thing that came out of this game was the fact that the Texans had no injuries.   THE BAD  Where to begin? The Texans defense was completely carved up like sliced deli meat. The Texans couldn’t stop Brady due to the fact that the pass rush was a force of one. JJ Watt had to carry the Texans defensive line while the remaining defensive line played a smoke and mirrors pass rush. Needless to say, Brady was on and when he was finally slowed long enough for the Texans offense to make up some ground they couldn’t get anything going. The offense looked completely inept throughout the game, and the fact that they kept running the ball with no success was like slamming your head into a brick wall (literally). Vince Wilfork was an impenetratable wall that the Texans kept meeting and more times than not in the backfield.   THE UGLY When tracking Matt Schaub and his tenure with the Texans, it has become increasingly apparent that he is good for one interception per high pressure game. So many times, we have seen Schaub look brilliant throwing short to mid-ranged throws with precision. Then occasionally, he will hit a receiver downfield for a 30+ yarder, but when the window tightens downfield he has trouble realizing that his accuracy although good and arm strength doesn’t match. On Monday night, Schaub decided in his mind that he could match whatever Brady could do. Brady would move the ball down the field and then Schaub would try to replicate. The problem with this thought process is that Schaub would have to play outside of his strengths. The Patriots are built around Brady and his ability to throw the ball, and they supplied him with the tools to succeed. The Texans built their team around the run and Arian Foster is the cornerstone of that offense. There were several times when the differences in the way these two teams were built were in stark contrast. Brady would move the ball through the air and the Texans would try to force the run regardless of the down and distance. Once coach Gary Kubiak decided to spread the ball around, it became evident early that the Texans were ill equipped to beat the Patriots at their own game.  If the Texans don’t run the ball well, it makes their game plan difficult to execute against elite teams. There was no greater display of this than on Monday night. *Injury Note: No injuries listed See more analysis and highlights of the game here.

Fantasy Forecast: Week 15

QB Tom Brady It’s tough to ever advise benching Brady in a fantasy league, but owners who have a top-rate backup with a better matchup could at least consider the possibility. The 49ers are tough against the pass, and this game doesn’t figure to be a points bonanza. Brady is probably still good for 280 and 2 scores, but that is not an automatic start for most teams who are...

With Leather’s Watch This: It’s The Tom Brady Baby Dating Game

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, eventual billionaire model Gisele Bundchen, just welcomed their second child (Brady’s third) into the world. Joining the two boys that Brady has already fathered is a daughter named Vivian Lake Brady, which is considerably better than Katniss Vanellope. But I’m not here to make child birth announcements for millionaires...

Tom Brady respects the hell out of this 49ers defense

How much does he respect this defense? Enough to start studying up on them back on Thanksgiving. Tom Brady went on and on yesterday about the 49ers defense, which of course, he does about every team every week. However, he doesn't often say stuff like "There’s no real weakness on this defense" multiple times very often. I remember listening to a BS Report with Bill...

Tom Brady Dazzles on Monday Night, Adrian Peterson Makes Moves in NFL MVP Power Rankings

Adrian Peterson has Eric Dickerson on his radar screen after another beastly effort on Sunday afternoon, this one against the Chicago Bears. Despite record, Texans can't measure up to Pats

The best record in the AFC will mean little to the Houston Texans if they can't beat the defending conference champions. The Texans lost for just the second time this season on Monday night when the New England Patriots coasted to a 42-14 win in a matchup of the two top teams in the AFC. Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns as the Patriots (10-3) opened a 28-0 lead and ended...

New England Patriots: Week 15 NFL Power Rankings (#1)

Last week: 1 (+0) Record: 10-3 Net points per drive: 1.17 (1st) DVOA: 41.8% (1st) Weighted DVOA: 45.8% (1st) Tom Brady improved to 26-11 in his career against teams with a better record than his with his win over the Texans last week. That’s unreal. The Patriots are +198 on the season. The 49ers are closest at +132. They already have wins over the Texans and Broncos and if they...

Patriots put Stallworth on IR

The New England Patriots have placed wide receiver Donte' Stallworth on injured reserve with an ankle injury. The move on Tuesday ended his season after just one game, a 42-14 win over the Houston Texans on Monday night in which he scored on his only reception, a 63-yarder from Tom Brady. The Patriots, who had released Stallworth following training camp, re-signed him on Dec...
