The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Good

You want this!

Andy Dalton to AJ Green. Boy, Mike Brown and Company really nailed the 2011 draft. Well, at least, their first two picks. That is how you build a franchise. QB? Check. WR? Check. If the Bengals can keep those two together, good things will happen.  Comparing the Ohio teams will provide some excellent insight as to the direction the NFL is heading. If push comes to shove, I would take Dalton/Green over Weeden/Richardson. AJ Green will be a top 5 wideout this season. His ball skills are tremendous, and he’ll take the top off a defense. It’s just a shame a truck will fall on half of the Bengals offense before the end of the season. No offense Julio, but AJ Green is, by far, the better wide receiver coming out of 2011. Nice job, Cincinnati. Keep it up. …Did I really just type that?

The Bad

Burner’d

Michael Turner. Oh, burner. If you look back over the last, I don’t know, decade and a half, my fantasy record has been pretty much awful.  I don’t win. I get close. Or I fail miserably.  It’s depressing. Maybe I should study harder, or prepare more. Or quit playing. But, without stepping on the toes of Chris Goodin, TSHQs fantasy writer, stay the hell away from Michael Turner, like the plague.  The word in the Dirty South is that Turner will have a pitch count. Which is a nice way of saying, “His tank is near empty, we’ve got WAY too much money invested in this guy and we need the wheels to stay on until we know if we can with the NFC South.” Matt Ryan, fine. Julio Jones, of course. Roddy White, sure. Michael Turner. Not if you pay me.

The Ugly

An argument for Universal Health Care

Cincinnati Bengals not named AJ or Andy.  Injuries. Gresham, Burfict. Just bad luck. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, didn’t play, and Cincinnati expects big things from their free agent running back (sorry to disappoint you). Dalton and Green could be VERY special. Like Stafford/Megatron special. Only Dalton might be the smarter QB. If Cincinnati could only hit on a few draft picks, they would be the class of the AFC North. As it stands now, Dalton-to-Green will only do so much, and I don’t think Crazy-Legs AJ (that wont stick) can contort his knees forever.

Happy Birthday, Mom.
