Found August 27, 2012 on This Given Sunday:
The New York Jets have a major problem. They've played three preseason games, and they still haven't put the ball in the endzone. At this point, it's hard to imagine Tony Sparano feeling comfortable about his job security as the Jets prepare for their final preseason game against the Eagles. Last night's game against Carolina showed us a few things. First off, the Jets can move the ball. Most of their field goals were chip shots. The connected on a 46 yard kick and missed a 45 yard attempt. The missed kick would have been a 40 yard attempt had they not jumped offside before snapping the ball for the kick. All their other field goals were even shorter yet. The problem is that the Jets haven't found a way to get over the hump. On one possession, they started at the Panthers' 12 yard line, and only walked away with a field goal. That's just not how you win football games at this level. The easy scapegoat is Mark Sanchez. I know that many ...

Fireman Ed says Jets Players not Helping Sanchez out

I didn’t go to any preseason games and apparently neither did Fireman Ed.  According to his tweets this morning, he never goes and he never worries about the preseason results. Mark Sanchez played a pretty good game in my eyes and Ed believes that his teammates need to help him out.  That starts with the line protection and goes all the way to the receivers running the correct...

Sanchez plus Tebow equals no TDs so far for Jets

The New York Jets are still searching for the end zone. Mark Sanchez can't get them there, and neither can Tim Tebow. After three preseason games, the Jets' offensive ineptitude has become a punch line - especially since they're the first team in 35 years to go this long without a touchdown. Sure, it's still only the preseason and the Jets insist they're not...

New York Jets: Offensive-Line Shuffle

Dear New York Jets, Please excuse Mark from football practice until you can provide pass protection for him so that he may live to see his 26th birthday. Signed, Sanchez’ mother To say that the Jets’ offensive line has played horribly would be an understatement. Abysmal seems appropriate as they have given up 12 sacks in two preseason games. RT Wayne Hunter has been benched...

Panthers hold off Jets in preseason win

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Mark Sanchez looked pretty good for nearly three quarters. He just couldn't get the New York Jets into the end zone -- again. Tim Tebow had the play of the game, but also couldn't get that elusive preseason touchdown for the Jets. Tebow got the fans fired up with a dazzling 20-yard run in the fourth quarter, but threw an interception three...

Jets have not scored an offensive touchdown in three preseason games

Most people feel as though NFL preseason games mean nothing, and Jets fans are hoping that is the case with the way their team has performed thus far. Through three preseason games, New York has scored exactly zero offensive touchdowns. They rank last in the league in total offense and have scored 21 total points. Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow and company are averaging just over 200 yards...

Jets yet to score a touchdown in preseason

It’s the preseason. It’s important not to get too excited or too worried about anything that happens in the preseason. Starters rarely play into the 2nd half and game plans are as vanilla as they come on both sides of the ball. Countless players don’t play for precautionary reasons with injuries they would play through during the regular season. Aaron Rodgers is 20 of 41 (48...

Tebow-Sanchez merely a distraction

Ongoing and increasingly fervent debate of playboy vs. altar boy, Sanchize vs. Tebowmania in New York feels almost too perfect to be accidental. Actually, screenshots of N.Y. Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow answering somber versions of what basically boiled down to "about this inevitable QB controversy . . . " during halftime of Sunday Night Football felt...

New York Jets: Offense Takes Small Steps Forward

With the New York Jets' offense failing to score a touchdown through Week 1 of the preseason, the offense did make some strides last night.Their offensive line looked stronger and was able to protect Mark Sanchez for the most part. With Wayne Hunter going to the bench, newly promoted right tackle Austin Howard has answered critics by showing that he is quite capable of playing...

Every NFL Offensive Line Sucks

Looking at the NFC East right now, you could probably make a convincing argument that the weakest unit on all four teams in that division is the offensive line.  In New York, Eli Manning's blind side is in trouble with Will Beatty hurt and Mark Sanchez's front side is in jeopardy as the Jets look for a right tackle solution not named Wayne Hunter.  Have...

New York Jets: END ZONE ENVY

GAME RECAP:  If the game against the Carolina Panthers was truly the last dress rehearsal before the regular season, I’m not impressed with what will-be the finished product as the Jets went yet another game without a touchdown.  Granted, the Jets aren’t running the offense the way they say they will in the regular season, but the execution of the plays they are running is...

21 NSFW F-Bomb Tweets Ripping The Jets Disgusting Offense

Catch any of the Jets-Panthers game last night? Jets looked good right? This time is becoming more and more of a laughing stock with every passing week. Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano keep telling fans that things are fine, that they’re waiting until the regular season to “unleash” their offense. The media is quickly becoming very critical and so are fans. They’re sick of Tebow...

NFL Preseason Week 3: Sunday Night Notes

Only two games on the card Sunday night but they both involved interesting storylines.Peyton Manning looked sharp in his 3rd preseason game with the Broncos. Also just as interesting, but perhaps for different reasons, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow continued to struggle in their 3rd preseason outing with the Jets.  Peyton and his Horses look ready for Week 1, while Mark and Timmy have...
