The NFL will release it's full schedule this Wednesday and we'll get to see what the Detroit Lions have in store for them for the 2024 NFL Season.
One thing seems very apparent, the NFL really likes the Lions now. What's not like? They're a good team and they play in good games. They created some really great moments in 2023 and they're just super fun.
That's why when you look at the Lions schedule and see some of the accompany storylines, they're likely to be the team with the most primetime games.
Last year the Cowboys, Chargers, Chiefs and Bills all had six primetime games. Here's why the Lions could be one of the teams that does something like that in 2024:
This one feels like a layup. Here's a list of the storylines attached to this game:
It's so easy. If I were the schedule maker, I'd put this right up front in Week One as the first Monday Night Football game of the year.
A rematch of the NFC Championship game. The Lions are going to be looking for revenge in this game for sure. With that aside, this is a matchup between two of the best teams in the NFC.
A matchup between to of the young up and coming NFL teams with bright futures. Both teams made the playoffs last year and they both got better during the offseason. This is gonna be fun one.
The Packers are good now too. That's why an NFC North clash in primetime makes too much sense to ignore. That and the fact that these teams have played in primetime in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Another NFC North battle. Caleb Williams is the driving factor here most likely. The NFL usually gets behind their number one picks. Especially if they're quarterbacks that come in with as much hype as Williams has.
It's just a matchup of a two good football teams that are expected to be leaders in their divisions next year. That and when these two teams played on Thanksgiving in 2022, it was a blast.
This one has Thursday night written all over it. A playoff rematch between two good teams with Baker Mayfield looking to avenge the loss in the second round.
That's seven possible options. There's more. You could make arguments for J.J. McCarty coming back to Michigan, The Titans should be pretty fun, The Seahawks always have good games with Detroit and Colts should be fun. We'll see what happens on Wednesday.
