The Detroit Lions wrangled the Dallas Cowboys, overcoming a 24 point deficit in the 3rd quarter, earning their fourth victory of the season with a final score of 34-30. The Lions’ defense scored two touchdowns off interceptions in the third quarter, leading their posse to an incredible come back against the Cowboys. Matthew Stafford and the offense struggled until late in the game, when Stafford connected with Calvin Johnson for two passing TDs in the 4th quarter. Detroit’s total offensive yards were 303. Unlike last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, the offense allowed no sacks and provided better protection for Matthew Stafford, though this week’s game sparked more concern in other areas of the Lions performance. The rushing game was weak and only produced 63 yards for 17 rushes, averaging 3.7 yards a carry. Penalties were also a major disappointment.
