Found January 16, 2012 on Shutdown Corner:
Little brother has arrived. The only thing hot about Green Bay's Lambeau Field as Sunday afternoon turned to night was New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who orchestrated four flawless quarters in a 37-20 road win over the defending Super Bowl champion Packers. In upsetting the defending champs, he put up some big numbers completing 21 of 33 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. But in advancing to the NFC Championship game, Manning made a statement that he is now among the elite quarterbacks of the game. Suddenly, the New York Giants quarterback deserves to be named in the same company as Tom Brady, Drew Brees and the man he beat on Sunday, Aaron Rodgers among the greatest of this current generation of quarterbacks. He has now sprung from that second-tier to legit stardom. In doing so, he has now surpassed brother Peyton Manning in the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks. The playoffs are Eli's time to shine, where he boasts an all-time mark o...

Report: Peyton Manning, Jeff Saturday to Redskins 'Very Likely'

The Colts reportedly plan to draft future franchise quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. If that spells the end of Peyton Manning's tenure in Indianapolis, the veteran could end up in the nation's capital. According to ESPN's Bram Weinstein, a source indicates that it's "very likely" that Manning and center Jeff Saturday will...

Peyton Manning a Jet? Archie mum on subject

With Mark Sanchez struggling late this season and Peyton Manning's status with the Colts uncertain, some Jets fans have allowed themselves to dream of having a Manning to call their own at MetLife Stadium.

It's Business As Usual For the Giants

Some would call what transpired Sunday night an upset or a fluke. Is anyone really suprised by the "upset" though? The Giants went in to Lambeau Field and routed the hometown Packers 37-20. Big Blue had great performances all around and now travel to San Fransisco for a showdown with the 49ers. Here are some keys to the Giants win, and what to look for in the NFC Championship...

Fun With Extrapolation: Quarterback Edition

So what I did here was extrapolate how many fantasy points quarterbacks would have if they started all 16 games. To make this list you either have to have played 8+ games or have been drafted in fantasy leagues in the top 24 QBs which really is only Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb. So unfortunately I didn’t add Matt Flynn but if I had he would have averaged 44 fantasy points...

For the Houston Texans the Ravens Represent a Different Kind of Test

This season has been about perseverance for the Texans, what started with a stroke of luck in their favour in the form of a neck injury to Peyton Manning turned out to be a season riddled with injury problems and adversity of their own. The 2011 Texans have overcome a great deal to make it [...]

Lupica: Big Blue believers

It will be harder this time for Eli Manning and the Giants at Lambeau Field, even if the weather conditions aren’t supposed to be. It is a better Packers team this time and a better Packers quarterback. The Giants go up against 15-1 this time at Lambeau, go up against Aaron Rodgers having as great a regular season as any quarterback has ever had, in Green Bay or anywhere else.

Giants vs Packers Rematch: Three Reasons Why the Giants Will Win in Green Bay

In this NFC Division Round game between the Giants and the Packers, the Giants are considered to be the heavy underdogs against a Packers team that went 15-1 this past season. They will face off on Sunday at 4:30 PM EST. Both teams are now healthy and it should be a great re-match to the game they had in Week 13 at MetLife Stadium, in which the Giants narrowly lost by a score of...

01/16 (Giants, Wow) Quickie

Hey, don't miss Quickish's NFL stream this morning, with some smart takes on yesterday's games. The Packers were a great story this season -- a mini-dynasty (or standard version) in the making. The Giants waltzing into Lambeau and throttling them is an even better story, the kind of you-kind-of-hope-it-will-happen-but-don't-expect-it-to-happen result that makes sports...

Cowboys Are Best in NFC, Right?

The Dallas Cowboys beat the San Francisco 49ers in "The Stick" with Tony Romo playing with a collapsed lung and broken ribs with a stunning overtime victory in what ended up being the Cowboys' best win of 2011 back in Week 2. The Cowboys had the New York Giants against the ropes before Eli Manning led a remarkable comeback down by double digits with under five minutes...

Dress the way you please and put your mind at ease It’s a city known for its freedom Cycles shining bright break the silence of the night Inhibitions, no, you don’t need them, no,no,no   After watching last night’s Giants victory over the Packers, I sat in stunned silence to the point my son was looking for a mirror to shove under my nose. I cannot believe this amazing...
