Drayton Florence was released by the Denver Broncos on Friday, and is now out of work. Florence was signed this off-season by the Broncos in hopes to help Champ Bailey out on the other side, a weak point the last few years. However, that didn’t work out and was outplayed by other guys, which resulted in his release.

The New York Giants have placed Terrell Thomas on the IR for the second straight year. Clearly, that is a blow to the secondary and to Thomas. Both were hoping he could play this season, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Thomas will be ready for the 2013 season.

Meanwhile, the Giants need to find another player to fill that spot. Drayton Florence could be that guy. Florence has played nine years in the NFL, starting with the Chargers and most recent with the Bills. Florence could still be a great corner, maybe one that you see covering the slot. In the division that the Giants are in, teams love to pass the ball, and you can’t have too many cornerbacks, especially ones that can make plays.

With teams are getting ready for week one, and while other players who didn’t make the cut looking for work. It may be hard to get on a team before week one starts, however, the Giants need to look into signing Drayton Florence. After all they must have a better regular season than they did a year ago if they want to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

New York Giants Cut Running Back D.J. Ware

In perhaps the most surprising roster move of the New York Giants offseason, the team has decided to cut veteran running back D.J. Ware less than a week before week one of the regular season. Ware has been a reliable third-down back for Big Blue throughout the past few seasons, and even seemed to be running with a new ferociousness as the preseason has progressed. D.J. Ware has...
