According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Oakland Raiders have signed former Giants tight end, Kevin Boss to a 4-year, $16 million deal. This is the second key starter that the Giants have lost this off-season, with Boss and Barry Cofielddeparting via free agency.
Kevin Boss has been a target of Eli Manning's ever since Jeremy Shockeywent down with an injury 4 years ago. In his rookie year, he helped the Giants to knock off the Patriots in Super Bowl 42. Over his 4 years with the team, Boss has compiled 119 receptions, 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns. Granted these are not flashy numbers, but he always would make catches whenever Eli threw to him.
The Giants did sign TE Ben Patrick earlier on in the off-season as a possible replacement to Boss, but his career numbers, size and skills just don't match up to Boss's.
