The Patriots landing free agent WR Brandon Lloyd was as much of a foregone conclusion as that there would be dirt on the ground today.
Lloyd has found a way to play for OC Josh McDaniels for three different teams in as many years. Maybe they are on the same bowling team or something; who knows?
In all sincerity, Lloyd finally began to play up to his potential in Denver after working with Daniels so that comfort zone is important to him.
So now, the Patriots have yet another weapon to play within their aerial attack. Lloyd is just what they needed.
He can make both the deep over the shoulder and the circus catches. Wes Welker can continue to be the ultimate mismatch and of course you have the two tight ends Ron Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.
This may leave veteran Deion Branch as the odd man out, but that’s another topic for another day.

On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks signed free agent QB Matt Flynn to a deal, but it appears that they are not through in free agency yet. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are going to bring in free agent RB Michael Bush on Tuesday for an interview. This is somewhat of a surprising move. The Seahawks just gave RB Marshawn Lynch a four-year contract extension...
2012 free agency is now approaching a week old and Michael Bush's interest on the market has been tepid, at best. It was stated that he was going to visit the Bears and the Bengals but neither has signed him at this time.
One theory, per PFT, is that the new rookie wage scale makes veterans RBs less valuable but I'm not sure that I agree with that logic. While the new...
The Steelers are rarely ever players in free agency. When reports arose that the Steelers were favorites to sign ex-Chargers running back Mike Tolbert it made sense. Tolbert is a typical Steelers free agent signing; a player that can contribute, but comes at a reasonable price. However, Gerry Dulac, Continue

While the rivalry between the Patriots and Colts has gone cold, quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will rekindle their battle in 2012. The Panthers announced the signing of Mike Tolbert Monday, sparking speculation that they may trade one of their running backs. Carolina already has DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Mike Goodson under contract at the position. Stewart will be a free agent after the season. Williams signed a five-year contract last July and would likely have less value on the trade market...
The Patriots are collecting undersized wide receivers to the extent that quarterback Tom Brady might soon be able to claim a "Smurfs" sequel.
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Carolina Panthers have signed running back Mike Tolbert to a four-year deal.
With the addition of Tolbert, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jonathan Stewart ends up being traded, since he’s going into the final year of his current contract.
Tolbert carried the ball 121 times for 490 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2011.
