Week 1 is now in the books, and thus it’s time to over react to all the players that over- and under-performed this week. Here are the players you should be looking to add, who are available in most formats, so you can either salvage your winless seasons or maintain those undefeated records: Waiver Wire Pickups Randall Cobb, WR, GB (47% owned in Yahoo!, 8.8% FOX) Last season, Cobb had a kickoff return touchdown and a receiving touchdown in Week 1. Naturally, this burned a lot of fantasy owners who scrambled to pick him up. He turned out to be a disappointment who did not catch another touchdown pass for the remainder of the year. Packers receiver Randall Cobb had another great Week 1 — is it a harbinger of things to come? (Image courtesy of B/R) This year, he again had a special teams touchdown and a big receiving day. But against the 49ers, Aaron Rodgers looked Cobb’s way nine times, and the second-year player caught all nine passes thrown to him. If he becomes a regular target like that throughout, Cobb will put up big numbers. Alfred Morris, RB, WSH (29% Yahoo!, 6.8% FOX) Anyone who took a chance on Morris over Evan Royster was rewarded with one of the best fantasy performances of Week 1. Morris had 96 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints. He looks to be the number 1 option going forward over Evan Royster and Roy Helu Jr. If you need to replace Fred Jackson, Rashad Jennings or fell victim to Toby Gerhart, give Morris the look. Danny Amendola, WR, STL (43% Yahoo!, 15.2% FOX) After Week 1, it looks like Amendola will be the most targeted St. Louis Rams receiver this season. Much like picking up the closer of a last place baseball team, you have to take the numbers on this one. He caught five passes for 70 yards against the Lions on Sunday. Things look good this week as he plays the Redskins. Coby Fleener, TE, IND (49% Yahoo!, 25.3% FOX) Fleener was among Andrew Luck’s favorite targets in Week 1. He caught six passes for 82 yards and was targeted 10 times. This week he draws the Minnesota Vikings. Look for a big game from Fleener en route to Andrew Luck’s first career win. *** Remember not to get too crazy. It’s still early. Pose any questions in the comments and I’ll try to answer them throughout the week here and on the MSF Fantasy Forecast Podcast The post The Pick-Up Artist: Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire Pickups and Advice appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
