The Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in Jovan Olafioye an offensive lineman from the Canadian Football League.
Olafioye has played the last three seasons with the B.C. Lions. Olafioye was the best offensive lineman in the CFL in 2012 and is hoping to make an NFL roster in 2013.
Olafioye has the ability to play both offensive tackle positions. He went unstaffed out of North Carolina Central and signed with the Lions of the CFL.
Fifteen teams have worked out Olafioye, but according to KFFL the Steelers have interest in signing him.
The Steelers have Marcus Gilbert, Mike Adams, and Kelvin Beachum who can all play tackle, but they will lose Max Starks this off-season.
Olafioye is only 25 so he is equal to an older draft pick, but he already has three years of Pro Football experience.
If the Steelers sign him they will have fewer holes to fill on the offensive line. Olafioye could also fight for a starting job if he is as good as advertised.

The more I look at last season the more ticked I get about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 8-8 record. Clearly this team was better than that and there is enough blame to fill a ballroom. Unfortunately, when I start looking at the Steelers’ offense in 2013 I can’t say my anger subsides very much.
Let’s consider what the holes the offense has to fill as we sit here in early February...

BYU defensive end Ezekiel Ansah is a player that several people have the Pittsburgh Steelers taking in the first round of the 2013 draft in their mock drafts. In fact, ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper even has him as the Steelers first round selection in his latest 2.0 mock draft.
Ansah, who only started playing football in 2010, is already 23 years old according to Kiper, and while...
The Steelers will have a difficult off-season, yes. They will have to make some tough decisions and Steeler Nation will have to say goodbye to some players that they aren’t yet ready to say goodbye too, but that doesn’t mean the Steelers are facing the apocalypse as so many seem to assume.
According to Spotrac.com the Steelers have 51 players currently signed to deals for the...
According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Pittsburgh Steelers, along with several other NFL teams, recently showed interest in B.C. Lions right tackle Jovan Olafioye, who was named the best offensive lineman in the CFL last season.
The 6 feet 5½ inch, 320 pound Olafioye started every game the last three seasons for the Lions and surrendered just one sack in...
Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley is about to start his offseason training program out in Arizona this month after taking in the UFC fight and Super Bowl this past weekend out in Las Vegas. It also appears that Woodley took time out recently to take part in a photo shoot for the upcoming Feb. 18 Music issue of ESPN The Magazine.
Woodley, along with Seattle...
We have already passed on the news that the Pittsburgh Steelers will have $758,000 worth of leftover salary cap space from 2012 that they can rollover to 2013 and now Pro Football Talk reports on Wednesday that they are also due an additional cap credit in 2013 of $642,000. I am not sure where this credit comes from as it could be LTBE (Likely To Be Earned) incentive of some kind...
Season 3, Episode 74 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get busy talking about the current salary cap situation of the Pittsburgh Steelers as they inch closer towards the start of the new league year. We talk about the Rule of 51, the cap credits due the Steelers in 2013 and also how the cap is expected to remain flat through the 2014 season. This talk leads...
Pittsburgh Steelers fans nearly had their prayers answered when a power surge caused a partial power failure during the third quarter of the Super Bowl. However the failure only lasted approximately 15 minutes. When action resumed, despite a valiant effort by the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens managed to hold on and win their second title in team history. Much to the...
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are so far over the salary cap that they may end up losing every one of their free agents and they may even have to cut some veterans that aren’t willing to restructure their contracts.
The Steelers could lose every one of their free agents, and they might have to lose a few more veterans if they don’t agree to take less...
With the season in the books, it’s time to break down the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster. We’ll move along alphabetically in a 5-parter. Here’s N through S:
