State of the Texans:
San Francisco 49ers
RELIANT STADIUM – The second pre-season game featured two heavy weight playoff hopefuls in the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers, last year’s NFC Championship finalist. With the firey Jim Harbaugh at the 49ers helm, most fans were anticipating a physical, regular-season-style game – and they got it, but it was the 49ers who left the game banged up in a 20-9 loss.
As opposed to last week’s game, this week featured some clearer options for “Players of the Game”. The Texans’ passing attack was led by Matt Schaub, who was seemingly able to move the ball against a rather stout defense. During his limited playing time, Schaub was 11 for 14 for 128 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 9.1 yards per pass attempt and hit Andre Johson for a 43 yard gain as well as throwing a 9 yard touchdown pass to wideout Lestar Jean. Schaub maintained control and composure while in the midst of a tenacious pass rush.

After winning their 1st game of the preseason by the tune of 26-13 over the Carolina Panthers the Houston Texans looked for yet another win against a far more formidable opponent in the San Fransisco 49ers. Both teams have premiere defenses and yet that’s not where the game was won. A week after the 1st unit couldn’t get it done on offense in the red zone, the Texans road the...
The Texans moved to 2-0 on Saturday night with their 20-9 win over the San Francisco 49ers, a team who played for the NFC championship last year. It was another very encouraging performance from the squad. I took a look at some key numbers from the game to find out what the Texans did well and what they need to work on.

Jim Harbaugh, coach of the San Francisco 49ers, is the next NFL affiliate who has publicly bash the replacement refs.
The NFL has issued “talking points” to coaches and players when speaking on the ongoing dispute between the NFL and the NFL referees, but when bad officiating overwhelms you, those “talking points” go out the window.
When first asked about the replacements...
Did you know that Panther Racing’s primary IZOD IndyCar Series entry has been No. 4 since its inception as a tribute to founding partner Jim Harbaugh, who wore the jersey number for the majority of his college and NFL playing career?
For the Aug. 24-26 GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, the National Guard car will carry a San Francisco 49ers livery as a tribute to the team’s head...
The 2011 Texans were a team with no weaknesses before losing Matt Schaub. We break down every aspect of the team through the power of our Quality Stats. Are they ready to make a Super Bowl run in 2012?
So this is the weekend we all have been waiting for since the Super Bowl ended in February. Most fantasy football leagues will be holding their annual drafts this weekend due to the Holiday Weekend (meaning family time) next weekend and Opening Night the following Wednesday. By now I am sure that most of you have bought your preseason magazines and printed your positional cheat...
This Sunday Peyton Manning gets a taste of facing a play off team. Some are wondering if this could be a preview of the up-coming Super Bowl. For the Broncos who brought Manning to the team and paid him a truck load of money, they are sure hoping so. The Broncos haven’t seen the Manning of old yet, listening to comments form Jim Harbaurgh you would think that Manning doesn’t...
Once again 49ers quarterback Alex Smith made it clear that Jim Harbaugh flirting with Peyton Manning during the offseason hasn’t created any awkwardness. between them.
“No awkwardness,” Smith replied Wednesday. “Anyone who’s been around Coach Harbaugh realizes the great thing about him is he tells you what he’s thinking, good or bad.
“He’s going to give you his...
After a miraclous 2011 campaign ended in heartbreak, Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers have their eye on the ultimate prize in 2012.
In their way is a tougher schedule that includes the top three offenses in the league - Green Bay, New Orleans, and New England - as well as a date with last year's Super Bowl Champions, the New York Giants.
The best-case scenario, then...
Despite the vehement denials of head coach Jim Harbaugh, the San Francisco 49ers are perceived to have fallen short during the free-agent bidding for Peyton Manning.
The reality is that the franchise may be better off for sticking with Alex Smith regardless of whether Harbaugh is telling the truth or doing damage control.
Such a statement would be considered preposterous not too...
