MVN Redskins:
The Redskins Youth Report returns to DC Pro Sports Report for the 7th straight season. If you are new to DCPSR, the Youth Report
is a weekly content article that evaluates the play and performance of
the Redskins rookies and sophomores, with trends of players going up,
down, or simply staying neutral, and a few little bits of
personal/opinion/comment. You may not always agree with our assessment of players,
so feel free to comment right here on the Blog or at theWarpath.net. The Rookie Report CB Kevin Barnes ( N ) Oh, don't look surprised. Barnes was among the inactive. The Redskins 3rd round pick has the potential to be an impact corner back, but that potential is in development. He made some nice plays in preseason that reminded us why the Redskins selected the former Terp in the 3rd round, but he also looked like a fresh rookie, a lost one at that, at times. He'll grow, relax! Even with his rookie mistakes and obvious inexperience, by placing him on inactive, are we really saying that he is not a better option than, ummm, Fred Smoot? The other thing I noticed was that Wetbrook was active over our 3rd round pick. Ok, let me rethink this paragraph for next week. Barnes is NEUTRAL. LB Robert Henson ( N ) Henson was placed on inactive list. Kind of expected, but yet, not so much so. I thought the Redskins would use Henson on special teams, one of those things that attracted them to the Linebacker in the draft. Henson is NEUTRAL. DE Jeremy Jarmon ( N )
Jarmon was listed as active but I am not sure how much he got in the game because I never really noticed him, nor did he record a tackle. Jarmon was involved in the play in which Andre Carter sacked Manning and forced a fumble. His time will come though. My bet is, Phillip Daniels at some point will have to miss time. Come on, it happens every year. Jarmon is NEUTRAL. WR Marko Mitchell: ( N ) Mitchell should stay trended upward simply because he was not inactive for the first week of the NFL season. By the looks of the production from Santana Moss, Malcolm Kelly, and Devin Thomas, maybe not only should Mitchell be listed as active, but actually ACTIVE.
But that isn't reality now is it? We list Mitchell as NEUTRAL.
