Dallas – Momentum:  No team needs a better start to their season than Dallas, and no player needs a better first few weeks than Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.  Every week 1 game for Romo is like starting a new diet or fighting adolescent acne…it needs to go well early for him, or it’s not going to go at all.  Not to overstate a single win, but that divisional victory over the defending champs was huge.  If the Dallas QB can get the team through the next few weeks while their playmakers heal, their defense gels and the offensive line learns what a snap count is, they could surprise some people.  Going to Seattle in Week 2 should help too, but Romo should stay away from the shellfish.San Francisco – Attitude:  Fear the Sharpie.  Although a year removed from the college game, Jim Harbaugh still has his squad playing like they are all under scholarship.  Each player carries Harbaugh’s attitude like they just left a pep rally and eagerly await the post-game co-ed bonfire.  They play hard...

Tony Romo TD Watch

Tony Romo is likely to surpass Troy Aikman in career touchdown passes. I addressed this briefly before, but Tony Romo is going to wind up owning several team passing records by the time he is finished. The next major mark in his reach is the career record for most TD passes. In only 78 career starts, Romo has 152 TD passes. That is one behind Roger Staubach and three behind Danny...

Tony Romo flirting with ‘elite’ status

You have probably already made your mind up about Dallas Cowboys starting QB, Tony Romo. He is usually one of three things to NFL fans: He is a very good quarterback who probably won’t win the Big One (remember when people said this about a certain pair of Manning brothers?), or that he is an [...]

Returning to Seattle won't be a snap for Romo

One of the worst moments of Tony Romo's football career, if not the worst, had nothing to do with him playing quarterback. On Jan. 6, 2007, it appeared that Romo would lead the Dallas Cowboys to a wild-card playoff win in Seattle. He'd moved his team to Seattle's 2-yard line with 1:19 left in the game after tight end Jason Witten was stopped just short of a first down...

Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo Has Unfinished Business In Seattle

When the clock counted down to read nothing but zeros, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo triumphantly walked on the field granting postgame interviews with the biggest smile possible. The feeling of jubilation poured out of Romo, having beaten the Super Bowl champions and long-time nemesis, the New York Giants. Now Romo has his sights set on beating the Seattle Seahawks. A...

Aikman was right: Cowboys’ Romo is a better QB than he was

I have long been a Romo-basher so even I was surprised that I ended up falling on this side of the debate but after taking a deeper look I realized that Troy Aikman may have been right. Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo is better than Aikman was. Now I know Aikman made this comment way back in March of this year so this argument played out months ago but after watching Romo...

Dallas Cowboys: 2012 Week 2 Power Rankings (#15)

Last week: 17 (+2) Record: 1-0 The Cowboys beat the Giants because Tony Romo had one of the best games of his career. However, they committed 13 penalties, which could have easily derailed them, but Tony Romo wouldn’t let it happen and kept coming up with big throw after big throw. They’ll be right in the NFC East mix, where all 4 teams are evenly matched, but they’ll have...

Rangers' closer loses bet, dresses as Romo

ARLINGTON, Texas Texas Rangers closer Joe Nathan had to pay off a bet Tuesday before the game against Cleveland. He wasn't happy about it either. Nathan, a diehard New York Giants fan, shagged fly balls in the outfield dressed from head to toe like Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Nathan lost a bet to fellow reliever Mike Adams, who is a Cowboys season-ticket holder...

Joe Nathan Loses Bet, Dresses Like Tony Romo in Full Cowboys Gear During Rangers Batting Practice (Photos)

No, Tony Romo didn't make a special guest appearance during the Rangers' batting practice on Tuesday night. Wearing full Cowboys gear -- everything from the jersey to pads -- was Rangers reliever Joe Nathan, who reportedly lost a bet on the Giants-Cowboys game with Mike Adams. Adams, who has Cowboys season tickets, is a huge fan and even keeps a Cowboys helmet in his locker...

Rangers closer Nathan pays off bet as Romo

Texas Rangers closer Joe Nathan can do a pretty good impersonation of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. The pitcher and New York Giants fan had no choice. Nathan paid off a bet with fellow reliever and Cowboys fan Mike Adams by donning a full Romo uniform, including pads and football cleats, during the Rangers' batting practice before Tuesday night's game against Cleveland...

Joe Nathan’s Tony Romo Halloween Costume

Joe Nathan, a Giants fan, last night paid up on his NFL regular season opener bet with Rangers pitcher Mike Adams by wearing the official Tony Romo uniform during BP. Notice: official Nike Romo jersey. The bet was to wear the uniform through batting practice and let lots of fans take photos of the shaming. Nathan, born in Houston, was raised in New York. Here he figured there was...
