With Derrick Mason traded, it can be easy in retrospect to just whitewash what happened and blithely say that this will make the team better in the long run — thereby assuaging any concerns we have about just how the Jets offense is currently struggling. Yesterday I made clear my reasons why the moved bothered me, but in trying to present the other side of the coin.  The truth is that it might be better without Mason, and I will try to explain why. Is Less More? After the loss to the Raiders, Rex made it clear that he really wanted to get back to his "ground and pound" style of offense.  Which based on the way the team has played so far this season isn’t necessarily a bad decision.  So if the Jets are going to run the ball more, it of course means they’re going to throw the ball less. If you are then thrown ball less, then there’s going to be more cantankerous wide receivers aren’t getting enough "love" from their quarterback because there just aren’t enough balls to go around.
