Found November 19, 2012 on Chicks in the Huddle:
For the first time in a looooong time, I got to relax in the fourth quarter of a Saints game. I kicked my feet up and casually sipped a glass of red wine without even the slightest anxiety that somehow, the opposing team would find a way to mount a comeback against mine. No need for blood pressure meds, xanax, vodka or a breathing machine. After all, I was witnessing a classic case of “We’ll eat your young” type football, courtesy of Drew Brees and an inspired Saints defense. It was quite pleasant. We finally witnessed the Saints play a complete game and even though it was against the craptastic Oakland Raiders, this fan will take it! It was refreshing to see the Saints display a commitment to running the ball. It was a commitment that paid off, as they once again racked up more than 100 rushing yards. They were aggressive on defense, hunting down Raiders QB Carson Palmer with an insatiable desire to see him slammed into the turf. And finally…FINALLY, our defenders are ...

RB Darren Sproles out for Saints vs. Raiders

Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades @ Raiders

The Saints were both efficient and balanced on offense in this game. 28 passes, 28 rushes. They passed for 229 at 8.2 yards per pass (thanks to 75% completions) and rushed for 153 yards at 5.5 yards a pop. The last few weeks they've gotten away from Brees throwing for 400+ yards in the interest of balance, and it's made them more explosive. This was another all around impressive...

Saints Nation: Saints Raid Oakland, Cruise to 38-17 Win

Just like that, the Saints are back to .500. After starting the season 0-4, it's hard to believe the Saints are now 5-5 and right in the thick of the wild card race, but a convincing win in Oakland did just that. The Raiders look like a lost team in complete disarray, sure, but the way the Saints were able to come in and thrash them is a very encouraging sign. The defense played...

Drew Brees More Concerned About The Rain Than The Raiders

Within a span of about six weeks, the New Orleans Saints went from pathetic to playoff contender. After knocking off the Falcons, the last of the remaining unbeaten in the NFL, the Saints carry their momentum to the Bay to take on the Oakland Raiders in the rain. NFLWeather.com forecasts a 50% of showers and [...]

Saints Nation: Defensive and Special Teams Player Grades @ Raiders

Once again the Saints' defense got gashed for 404 yards, but this one felt a lot different, wouldn't you say? This defense still has major problems. Most significantly glaring in this one was extremely poor tackling, which led to so many of the big plays the Raiders had. So many of those 20+ yard gains could have been cut in half with proper tackling. But, enough griping...

OAKLAND -- The New Orleans' Saints long climb back to .500 ended Sunday with a 38-17 rout of the Oakland Raiders at the O.co Coliseum. After starting 0-4, the Saints are now 5-5, and they have no intention of going backward. "It's been a long grind, especially starting off 0-4," Saints strong safety Roman Harper said. "We never pointed fingers, we stuck...
