The offensive line performed so poorly Sunday that Coach Jim Zorn said he significantly pared down the offensive game plan in the 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Was anyone really surprised? As has been reported, the Redskins, in an internal self-evaluation during the offseason, determined the offensive line was the single biggest reason for the 2-6 second-half collapse last season. Many in the organization acknowledged the unit was in need of an overhaul, and has been for some time, but management focused on the defensive line -- the Redskins made tackle Albert Haynesworth the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history and drafted defensive end/strong-side linebacker Brian Orakpo -- and hoped for the best with the offensive line. Bringing back guard Derrick Dockery to replace left guard Pete Kendall simply wasn't enough if the Redskins really intended to compete for a playoff berth. Right guard Randy Thomas was lost for
