Kissing Suzy Kolber:
One of my biggest complaints about when I visit my family on the left coast during football season is having to be up at the ass-crack of my dawn to perform my normal Sunday morning routine of checking my fantasy football lineups, making a big breakfast, laying on the couch and scratching myself. However, never have I actually thought to myself, “What if I was an NFL player for a west coast team and had to play the 1 PM game against an east coast team?” Wow, man. That’s some deep existential sh*t right there, right Arsenio?
But mock it all you want, San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers is none too pleased with the idea of playing at 10 AM his time this Sunday in Tampa Bay, even though it will be 1 PM where he is, but it’s still… aw, screw you, Ben Franklin!
“I thought that they had kind of done away with that,” quarterback Philip Rivers said. “But they’re back this year.”
“We just have to get up and go,” Rivers said. “Obviously you’re not usually playing a game at 10 a.m. When the

The Chargers earned their first win since beating the Chiefs in week four.
The effort of the win can largely be attributed to the superb play of the defense. Against the Chiefs they were able to force four turnovers, two of which were for touchdowns, and hold the offense to 289 total yards. They prove once again that they are an elite defense in this league and remain the glimmer...
Chargers offensive linemen Brandyn Dombrowski and Johnnie Troutman were designated as "return to practice" on Tuesday, the final day for NFL teams to start the 21-day practice window for players who had been on either list. Dombrowski (foot) was on the reserve-non-football injury list. The fifth-year veteran has started 16 career games while seeing time at right guard...
The NFL is sticking it to the San Diego Chargers. The league announced Wednesday that it has fined the Chargers $20,000 for trying to hide towels with a concealed "sticky" substance to enhance grip during an Oct. 15 game against Denver. "The NFL has determined that the club did not violate a competitive rule by use of the towels," the league said in a statement...
Last week: 15 (+0)
I was not impressed with their showing at home against the crappy Chiefs last week. If not for two defensive touchdowns, that could have easily been at the very least an embarrassingly close win to an inferior opponent for a team that held a 3 game losing streak coming in. They can’t keep relying on their defense to score like that every week. I am...
Corey Liuget, Jared Gaither and Antwan Barnes aren't practicing Thursday afternoon.
All three are getting "mental reps" by observing their positional groups.
Wide receiver Vincent Brown, who isn't in uniform, is another observer at Chargers Park. Brown, who sustained a broken ankle on Aug. 18, said on Wednesday that he is "sure" he'll return this...
The NFL has fined the San Diego Chargers $20,000 because it said a member of the equipment staff failed to immediately surrender towels when ordered to do so by a game official against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 15.
The NFL also said in a statement Wednesday that after investigating the Chargers' use of towels that included an adhesive substance, it was determined that San Diego...
The National Football League fined the San Diego Chargers $20,000 on Wednesday for failing to immediately give up a towel that had a grip-enhancing substance on it.
The incident in question occurred in a game against the Denver Broncos on October 15.
On Wednesday, the NFL released a statement saying the Chargers did not violate any NFL competitive rules, but was instituting the...
With a rookie sensation at running back and a fourth-year quarterback who's finally coming into his own, the surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting to look like a playoff team.
The San Diego Chargers have the same record and are also just outside the playoff picture, but they haven't looked much like a contender lately.
The surging Buccaneers try to win for the fourth...

As always, please remember that the players listed are mostly meant to be borderline guys, who need reasons for you to play or bench them. You won't see recommendations to start Calvin Johnson and Drew Brees, because you should always start Calvin...
