Bay Sports Report:
Undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin has continued his meteoric rise to become the number two quarterback on the Oakland Raiders roster. Not only did McGloin go undrafted but he wasn’t even invited to the NFL draft combine. During mini-camps McGloin was nothing but an afterthought, who had just as much of a chance to make the team as training camp leg Eddie Carmona. However, after a stellar preseason McGloin beat out 4th round pick Tyler Wilson for the final quarterback spot.
The scrappy Scranton kid McGloin has proven that there is no limit on how far he can go in his NFL career. Obviously, McGloin is still the second best quarterback on the Raiders roster but Terrelle Pryor’s playing style makes him susceptible to injury. It looks as though Pryor will be the Raiders quarterback for the foreseeable future but that does not mean McGloin is not an important piece in the Raiders future.
Most teams with mobile quarterbacks like Pryor have had great backup quarterbacks on their 53 man roster. When Michael Vick was running around the field in Atlanta, the Falcons had Matt Schaub holding the clipboard behind Vick. In Washington, the Redskins have the dynamic Kirk Cousins backing up Robert Griffin III.
Now that McGloin has surpassed the atrocious Matt Flynn on the depth chart, expect McGloin to see the field this season. The Raiders are going through a complete rebuild this year so they should let McGloin see some action even if Pryor doesn’t go down with injury.
The Raiders need a player like Matt McGloin to become a leader on the team. Throughout his life McGloin has been doubted as he was a walk-on at Penn State, not invited to NFL combine, and not picked in the NFL draft. Throughout the last decade the Raiders have been the laughing stock of the NFL but McGloin can help turn that hate into motivation.

It’s hard to fathom that Terrelle Pryor has become the heart and soul of the Oakland Raiders after just three starts this season. While Pryor’s detractors have continued to say that Pryor does not have an NFL caliber arm or pocket poise, Pryor has shown that he is capable of being a solid quarterback in this league. What makes Pryor’s performance this year so remarkable...

Watch out society, it is happening again. Vacate the streets, lock the doors, shut the blinds, have 9-1-1 on speed dial because the moment you have all been dreading has arrived. I can smell the sulfur emitting from my pores, hot and foul, cascading up to the sky and amassing into a giant slime green cleat, pummeling the ozone layer into submission...
Veteran defensive end Jason Hunter was another bargain free agent signing by general manger Reggie McKenzie that has stepped up this season for the Oakland Raiders. Hunter is a typical Raiders signing under the McKenzie era as he has played under both McKenzie and head coach Dennis Allen during his career.
The former undrafted free agent Hunter has been a rotational defensive end...
Raiders running back Darren McFadden hamstring was held out of practice for a second straight day, while fullback Marcel Reece (knee) was on the field practicing with his teammates.
McFadden still out, now where to be seen (bad sign). Wisniewski out, but watching practice. #raiders

It also looks like Raiders second string quarterback Matt Flynn lost his backup job to matt McGloin.
looks like McGloin has jumped Flynn on #raiders depth chart

Seems like Dennis Allen really wasn’t happy with the way Flynn played last week for him to lose his back up job after one game as the starter in place of Terrelle...
In the beginning of the game against the Washington Redskins, Oakland had the lead until the third quarter due to the Redskins’ disastrous offensive performance. What was the turning point in the game that caused the Redskins to overturn the Raiders? Washington’s defense picked up the slack of their offense, resulting in an ending score of Washington 24, Oakland 14.
How did quarterback...

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor will start this week after missing last week’s game with a concussion.
Pryor is symptom free, will start for Raiders vs. Chargers. Matt McGloin is backup. Flynn dropped to No. 3 QB

This is certainly great news after last week’s loss to the Redskins. You would have to imagine that if Pryor played, the...
Terrelle Pryor is symptom-free and will start Sunday night’s Week 5 game against the Chargers. I am exited for Pryor, because he has been pretty surprising this year. Pryor will lead the Raiders into their 11:35 game against the Chargers which will be aired on the NFL Network. Pryor has been putting up at least 18 […]
Raiders HC Dennis Allen announced on Wednesday that undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin will take over as the team’s backup quarterback behind Terrelle Pryor.
“It is what it is. It didn’t work out,” Allen said, via Vic Tafur.
As if things couldn’t possibly get worse for Matt Flynn, he’s now lost a job for the third time in less than two years.
Allen basically threw...

The Chicago Bears (3-1) are looking to improve their situation at the punter position following a rough performance by Adam Podlesh in the team’s 40-32 loss to the Detroit Lions (3-1). Podlesh, 30, averaged 28.8 yards on his five punts on Sunday and helped gift Detroit with great field position when he hit a line drive right to Lions returner Michael Spurlock, who took off for...
When NFL kickers Owen Pochman and Glenn Pakulak retired, they decided to keep working with football, sort of. The two transitioned to jewelry design. Their company, Football Chains, was born out of a mutual interest in design and a creative concept in re purposing footballs. Pochman and Pakulak combined to play for 16 of the 32 NFL teams. In the process, they built up a large collection...
The Oakland Raiders worked out wide receiver Joe Adams today according to a league source.
Adams is a speedy former Carolina Panthers fourth-round draft pick.
Per a source Adams is now 100 percent healthy.
The former Arkansas consensus All-American was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.
Last season he caught one pass for seven yards with 335 total return yards
