Hosts Steve Bennett and Don Russ interview the biggest names in sports media and pop culture each week on Football Nation's The Sports-Casters podcast.


Their guest this week is Paul Kuharsky, writer and blogger of the AFC South for ESPN.com. 


The biggest story in the National Football League this week was the arrest of Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon for DUI. Blackmon blew a .24 on his breathalyzer test, three times the legal limit. Steve and Don talk with ESPN's AFC South blogger about Blackmon's arrest and all of the news and notes around the AFC South division. 

Kuharsky and the guys chat about a potential quarterback controversy in Houston, the rebuilding of the Colts, and what to expect from Chris Johnson this season. 

Kuharsky also says:

  • The Houston Texans have the most talent in the division and should win it despite a harder schedule this year
  • It is far too early to declare Blaine Gabbert a bust 
  • The most interesting story around the AFC South headed into training camp will be the potential QB competition between Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck 
  • The Colts have many holes to fill despite an offense heavy draft
  • The Jaguars and Titans should battle for second place in the division and could compete for the final playoffs spot


Steve and Don kick off each podcast with "3 Things" but manage to tackle so much more. In this week's segment they discuss the tragic story of Brian Banks and his goal to play in the NFL after spending much of the last ten years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Also, Steve and Don chat about Aaron Maybin working out with Michael Phleps, trick-shot quarterback Alex Tanney getting another chance in Kansas City, and the sad history of NFL players and DUI.
