The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made one of the biggest splashes in the 2012 NFL free agency pool and this afternoon the club announced another free agent signing. Filling the need for finding a veteran backup quarterback, the Buccaneers announced that they have signed QB Dan Orlovsky.No financial details have been announced but the deal is reported to be a two-year deal. Orlovsky will back up QB Josh Freeman. A backup quarterback was a necessity for the Buccaneers with Josh Johnson hitting the free agent market. Johnson is a mobile quarterback but did little on the field when given opportunities. Dan Orlovsky, 28, has appeared in 20 NFL games between his time with the Detroit Lions and most recently, with the Indianapolis Colts. The University of Connecticut product has completed 58.% percent of his passes throwing for 2,880 yards, 14 touchdowns and twelve interceptions. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed guard Carl Nicks to a five-year, $47.5 million deal with $31 million guaranteed.  This makes Nicks the highest paid guard in NFL history.
