The NFL has just released the 2013 schedule. There are a few games that look to be outstanding match ups and will hopefully live up to the hype. Here is a list of a few of these games that should be create some highlights of the upcoming NFL season. San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks – Week 2 This game is already marked on my calendar. As a 49ers fan I was crushed when Seattle took it to San Francisco in their second meeting last year. Colin was the starting quarterback for the 49ers. The Niners were dominated by the Seahawks. In that game, Seattle’s QB Wilson had four touchdown passes to win in a 42-13 blowout. The two teams will be fighting for the top spot in the NFC West so each team will want to win this game to set the tone for that division. Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles – Week 3 When head coach Andy Reid was let go by the Eagles, some speculated that he was going to take a break from coaching. He did not. He is now the head coach for the Chiefs and he will face his former team in the city of brotherly love. I am wondering how the Eagles fans will treat him. We will see how the revamped Kansas City team will do this season and Week 3 will be a good test for Reid and his new team. Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts – Week 7 The Colts All-Time great Peyton Manning is coming back to play against the present and future star of the Colts, Andrew Luck. Now that Luck has proved in his rookie year that he was worth the first overall pick in 2012, the game has more meaning. Manning’s homecoming could have provided enough fireworks alone, but both teams should be fighting for a playoff spot which adds more intrigue to this game. Denver Broncos at New England Patriots – Week 12 The Pats and Broncos game became more intense when Peyton took his talents to Denver. Anytime the two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks play against each other it sure is must see TV. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are not getting any younger so as fans of the NFL we should cherish any game that has these two going against each other. Denver Broncos at New York Giants – Week 2 Are you seeing a theme yet? Yes I know another Peyton Manning game, but it is another round of the Manning Bowl. This game should have the same amount of the screen time for Archie as his two sons. This game is early in the season so it is not a do or die game for either team. Still with the limited amount of regular season games teams are always looking to start off on a positive note. Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers – Week 1 The 49ers were able to overcome a shaky start when these two teams met up in the playoffs last season. The Green Bay Packers took a Colin Kaepernick interception back for a touchdown. Colin and the 49ers were able to regroup and beat Green Bay to move on further into the playoffs. The Packers will want revenge and this game is in the first week which is a great way for the NFL to kickoff it’s opening week. Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos – Week 1 One of the magical football moments more Baltimore fans was when the Ravens made an unbelievable comeback to beat the Broncos in the AFC divisional-round playoff game. The Ravens lost a lot of players to retirement and free agency, but there are enough key players on the Ravens to make this an exciting game. I think the Broncos will make sure that they have at least two defenders in the end zone in case there is another Hail Mary pass attempt by Ravens QB Joe Flacco. Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers – Week 16 The 49ers had repeat performance in the playoff game against the Falcons as they did against the Packers. San Francisco was able to come back and win the game in Atlanta to move onto the Super Bowl. With the Falcons bringing back Tony Gonzalez and adding some depth on the defense this game could be do or die for both teams as them meet each other towards the end of the regular season.
