It is rare in today’s NFL that the success of a team or turning point for them in a season can be traced back to the play of an offensive lineman, but that is exactly what has happened for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. In the offseason the franchise made a very uncharacteristic mistake with their personnel, they decided to get rid of their best offensive lineman, Max Starks, due to weight and conditioning issues. As a fan base, the decision was somewhat unsettling, but they won Super Bowls with lineman named Willie Colon (who the Steelers signed to a $29 million dollar deal even though he has ended up on the injured reserve the last two seasons), Darnell Stapleton, and Justin Hartwig. Fans had justified reason to be unsettled.
