Washington-redskins-new
When people talk about a Washington Redskins quarterback, no one is looking at Rex Grossman, they’re looking past him. I think I would wear a NY Giants jersey next season  if the news broke that Rex was to remain  starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins. You can call me on that if it happens. I’ll welcome it. It would be my protest until he was benched. Call it harsh, but I call it how I see it. I’m saying nothing less than what’s been said already so bare with my reckless lead into this post. I’m being nice in comparison to some of the colorful language that’s out there. NBC Sports just posted a quote from Rex Grossman that has revived a headache that I’ve been trying to get rid of all day. So much for that mission. He was quoted by SiriusXM Radio’s Movin’ the Chains with Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan saying, “…A dream scenario for me would be to go back there and play consistently and play the way that I always thought I coul...

NFL draft: Redskins’ best QB option could be Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill

In the last week, we took a look at quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Kyle Orton and Matt Flynn and how they may or may not fit with the Washington Redskins, who desperately need an answer under center. But one thing’s clear. Regardless of whom the Redskins go with in free agency — whether the Colts release Manning and Mike Shanahan succeeds in luring the future Hall of Famer...

Revisiting the Redskins Draft Conundrum

One of the things that I believe has caused a great divide with regards to the analysis of the Mike Shanahan era in Washington between local commentators (message: you can clearly see where things are running better than before) and national commentators (message: has Mike Shanahan lost his mind?) is -- and this is just my opinion -- determining the identity of the competition.  Far...

Clinton Portis considers comeback, interviews Mike Tyson

Quite a day for Clinton Portis news, unexpectedly. First, his agent told NFL.com’s Steve Wyche that a handful of teams have expressed interest in the former Redskins back, and that he will meet with them at next week’s combine. Quoting the site: Read full article >>

The Redskins are on the verge of great offseason success

Our theme going into the 2011 season was that you would like this Washington Redskins team even if they finished with the same record as in 2010. The Redskins finished a five-win season—thank Goodness we swept the Giants or it would have been a three-win season—and now they enter the best part of the year, the offseason. In the past, Daniel Snyder fell for large-scale, questionable...

Rex Grossman wants to stay with the Redskins

As the Redskins ponder their options at quarterback, it’s fairly safe to say that the 2012 starter won’t be Rex Grossman. Grossman has yet to get that memo, however. Appearing today on SiriusXM Radio’s Movin’ the Chains with Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan, Grossman said he wants to stay with the Redskins. “I definitely like…

Washington Redskins: Mike Mayock Evaluates the Top 2012 NFL Draft QB Prospects

I’m a huge fan of NFL Network’s draft guru, Mike Mayock. So when he speaks, I listen, and hold his word with more stock than other draft analyst. Mayock held a national conference call to discuss the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, and made some interesting comments on the top Quarterbacks. Mayock on Baylor’s, Robert Griffin III: “You’re bringing up one of the more gifted kids...

RB Clinton Portis Cleared To Play Football After Missing 2011 Season

A handful of teams have expressed interest in veteran running back Clinton Portis, his agent said Thursday. Jason Fletcher said meetings with those teams have been scheduled to take place in Indianapolis during next week's 2012 NFL Scouting Combine. Fletcher said Portis is eager to return to the NFL after not playing during the 2011 season, and playing in five games in 2010....
