Or disaster.Whatever is going on out at Redskins Park, we are not seeing the full, unaltered picture. The team is on the brink, teetering in either direction. The Redskins are on the verge of great success. Or not.Telltale signs:Two of the most admired players on offense, Clinton Portis and Mike Sellers, get in a shouting match--with each other. On Monday. Because of Clinton tried to have Mike removed from the Lions game the week before.Sherm Lewis, a distinguished retired coach, was retained to consult with the team by looking over the offense, players and coaches, under circumstances sure to make for a failed effort. If nothing else, Lewis is sure to be called Coach Bingo as he is assuredly asked to look at the wrong part of the organization.Defensive coordinator Greg Blache challenges Comcast sports analyst Trevor Matich on the post game show following the loss to the Lions. If those points are not related, they are at least suspicious.So, are the Skins on the verge of falling out? It doesn't look good, but take a chill pill and remember one thing about the Redskins.These are the guys who spit in the face of death and made a run to the 2007 playoffs. Same players. Same owners. Mostly the same coaches. Same fans. Daniel Snyder never showed better leadership than he did then. He did it by rising up and sheltering the team in the face of crisis. He did it for the team. The team responded. Just now the team faces a little adversity. And it's a little adversity. Most pundits expected the Redskins to finish around 8-8. Hog Heaven's Greg Trippiedi projected 11-5, but most others forecast 9-7. At 2-2, the Redskins are achieving what was expected. So lets have the leader do something public to show faith in the team and confidence in the personnel purely for the sake of the team. If Daniel Snyder can find the backbone to publicly support the team, instead of second guessing them, the team will take a step towards greatness.Then, we will all feel better.
