Rex Grossman, QB Washington
Owned in 4% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues
The Shanahanigans in Washington continued last week with the benching and subsequent demotion to third string of Donovan McNabb. As the new starter, Rex Grossman emerged against the Cowboys to pass for an amazing 322 yards and 4 TD’s. We like Grossman’s chances to put up another gem against the suspect Jacksonville pass defense. It could be a risky play to start Sexy Rexy in the Superbowl; however I like him more than Matt Cassel and Jay Cutler this week.
Andre Caldwell, WR Cincinnati
Owned in 1% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues
Terrell Owens will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery for a torn meniscus on Monday, opening the door for Andre Caldwell and Jordan Shipley to get more looks for the Bengals. Caldwell has a history with Carson Palmer and could be a nice #3WR in deeper leagues.
Anthony Armstrong, WR Washington
Owned in 11% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues
Armstrong has been able to put together a few decent performances over the past few weeks, and he appears to have a nice rapport with Rex Grossman. For those managers dealing with late season WR woes, Armstrong could be a nice injury replacement this week against the Jags.
Lance Ball, RB Denver
Owned in 1% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues
The fragile Knowshon Moreno appears to be injured yet again, opening the door for Ball to possibly get carries this week against the Houston Texans. This is a long shot of a pick and it is not clear if Moreno will play, however if Moreno is ruled out Ball could be a decent flex play in deeper leagues.
Dallas Cowboys Defense
Owned in 47% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues
The Arizona Cardinals appear to be content with playing terrible football in hope of getting a top pick in next year’s draft, making any defense that plays against them a nice fantasy play. That honor is bestowed on the Dallas Cowboys this week as they face off against the Cardinals on Christmas night. If you are looking for a sleeper defense this week, the Cowboys appear to be the top choice.

According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, the Redskins have re-signed free agent quarterback Rex Grossman.
As much as Redskins fans don’t want to have to look at Grossman anymore, it’s a smart move because he already knows the offense and it will allow the coaches to focus on teaching Robert Griffin III the system once he’s drafted and comes in.
Also as bad as Grossman...
The man accused of fatally shooting Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor during a 2007 burglary has fired his lawyer one month before his murder trial.
Eric Rivera Jr. gave the Miami-Dade County, Fla., judge a letter Friday explaining his reasons for firing Quinton Pitts, an experienced defense lawyer. The judge ordered the letter sealed and said a new lawyer would be appointed...
Free agent safety Brandon Meriweather has signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Washington Redskins.
Meriweather agreed to the deal Thursday as the Redskins began the task of replacing last year's safety tandem of LaRon Landry and Oshiomogho Atogwe.
The 28-year-old Meriweather was a first-round draft pick by New England in 2007 and was a two-time Pro Bowl player with...
Brandon Meriweather has found a home. The former Patriots and Bears safety has signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Washington Redskins, according to The Washington Post. Meriweather, the 24th overall pick by the Pats in 2007, had his best year in 2009 when he recorded 83 tackles and five interceptions. The Miami product was cut by the Pats in early September last year and...
Mike Holmgren told me everything I need to know about the Washington Redskins trade-up for the Rams' slot in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Why else would the president of the Cleveland Browns have to explain to season ticket holders that he lost the bid to trade up for the rights to Robert Griffin III?
"I'm not going to tell you exactly what we offered, but I will say what we...
After a quick fling with the Washington Redskins, Eddie Royal married the San Diego Chargers for a three-year, $13 million contract with $6 million guaranteed.
Royal was at Redskins Park when free agency opened and Mike Shanahan nearly got him in the fold with a reported two-year, $12 million contract.
We can't say that Washington lost Royal. We never really had him. But, Royal...
The New York Giants have signed oft-injured safety Chris Horton.
The Super Bowl champions announced the signing late Thursday afternoon.
Horton did not play in the NFL last season. He spent his first three seasons with the Washington Redskins, but missed half of each of his last two seasons with toe and ankle injuries. The UCLA product made 15 starts for the Redskins and had 122...
Former Bears-Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather reached agreement to join the Washington Redskins this afternoon. The two sides agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal according to a story in The Insider.
Meriweather is a two time Pro Bowler with the Patriots, but struggled in the Bears' defensive scheme where his struggles vaguely resembled Adam Archuleta's struggle in Washington...
Well things have revved up in the NFL and I have been more than lackadaisical in my coverage.
What that means is that I was unable to get most of the teams taken care of, I mean I only got 5 teams taken care of, but I nailed the Bucs and Rams and what they were going to do, so I feel great about what I did write prior to the free agent frenzy beginning.
So that means I got to get...
Robert Griffin III is proving to be this year's prize. The Redskins proved to be more brazen than the Browns in their attempt to grab a franchise player.
