I’ve had a joke going with several friends over the past few weeks that Calvin Johnson has helped put the Madden Curse to rest, while we’re starting to see the emergence of an all new and much more powerful NFL demon – the Thursday Night Football QB Curse. Take this last TNF game, for instance. Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan was just not-sh*tty enough with 165 yards and a TD to defeat the New Orleans Saints, who were led by Drew Brees’ 341 yards (good) and 5 INT (horrendous). Needless to say, by Friday morning, I already had several readers asking for this post.Excluding the Thanksgiving Thursday games, which featured strong performances from Matt Schaub, Tom Brady, Matt Stafford, Tony Romo and Robert Griffin III – hell, even Mark Sanchez wasn’t terrible – you had a double-decker turdburger from Ryan Tannehill and Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 11, a Blaine Gabbert-esque performance from Blaine Gabbert and Andrew Luck (he did rush for 2 TD in his defense) in Week 10, and Matt Cassel and Phi...

The scouts are right; Drew Brees is too short for the NFL
Now, there is an attention grabbing headline. Of course, I don’t mean to deride Drew Brees – arguably one of the greatest to ever play the game and currently the owner of the best single season yardage total in league history and the longest streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass ever. However, Brees struggled against the Falcons this past week and at least part of...
Saints Nation Podcast: Drew Brees Hits Bottom Edition
Andrew Juge of the Saints Nation stops by to break down the disaster in Atlanta. He compares watching it to watching the Heath Shuler led Saints. He and Ralph discuss if the Saints would have been better off if they had played the good teams on their schedule early in the season and Andrew explains why the offensive line has struggled and what it might look like next year.

New York Giants defense takes aim at Drew Brees and the Saints
The New York Giants are mad. After their Monday night loss to the Redskins, those that are students of the game knew that they would be.
Atypically for them at this stage of the season that means that they next team up on their roster has to pay a large tax for the events of the game prior.

Saints Nation Guru: Fan Predictions for Giants Game
For the second straight week MarijnPessers has won the Saints Nation Guru award and it's vaulted him alone atop the standings with two victories this season. As Drew Brees has completely imploded, Marijn has done the exact opposite and gotten hot with his prognostication skills. I can only be left to assume he made a deal with the devil to sacrifice Drew Brees performance for...
Jason Pierre-Paul: Defending Drew Brees, Saints will be ‘much easier’ than Redskins
Despite their 5-7 record, the New Orleans Saints have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. That has been the case ever since Drew Brees came to the Bayou in 2006, but New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is not overly concerned about it.
Coming off a loss to the Washington Redskins, Pierre-Paul believes defending Brees, Jimmy Graham and company will seem like...
The Push for the Playoffs (NFC) – Week 14 Edition
Coming into the season, there weren’t many teams in the NFC that you could rule out of the playoffs. Rookie quarterbacks in Washington and Seattle? They’re in the think of things. The Saints with Drew Brees, coming off of a 5,000 yard passing season? Well, they’re out of it. Who would’ve guessed it. It’s time to look into the NFC playoff picture as we wind down to the...
Saints draw inspiration from Giants' playoff run
The New Orleans Saints know they are long shots to make the playoffs even if they beat the New York Giants on Sunday.
Still, they haven't given up - taking inspiration from the Giants, who made a postseason run from a position similar to one in which the Saints find themselves now.
''We saw what they did last year,'' Saints cornerback Jabari Greer said. '...
NFL Week 13: The Week In Pictures
Was Adrian Peterson’s epic touchdown run, Robert Griffin III’s Monday Night Football debut or the touching leadership of Kansas City Chiefs’ coach Romeo Crennel the most memorable selection from the 13th week of the 2012-2013 season?
The pictures in this gallery say it all.

Saints-Giants Preview
The New York Giants think they need to run the table in their final four regular-season games to win the NFC East.
The New Orleans Saints feel the same way about reaching the playoffs, and are drawing inspiration from the reigning Super Bowl champions.
The Giants could find their division lead completely gone with a loss Sunday at MetLife Stadium, while another defeat for the Saints...
