No, I’m not referring to the television classic. I’m referring to Usama Young, safety for the Saints, and with whom he spent his bye week. After a couple of days of relaxing and watching those nasty pigeons from Atlanta dismantle his hometown team, the Ravens, who Usama had never pulled for until that night, Usama Young and his foundation, the Usama Young Youth Foundation, brought 100 McDonogh 35 sophomores and juniors on campus tours of Dillard University and the University of New Orleans.
For many of these students, they will be the first ones in their families to attend college. Usama wanted to give them an idea of what college life can be and how the application process is not as intimidating as it seems.
“We want to show them that college is a great experience and how they have lots of options in front of them on where they want to go to school and what they choose to major in.”
