In this second year with the Baltimore Ravens, defensive tackle Terrence Cody is playing as he did at Alabama rather than just talking smack about his alma mater.
After helping the Crimson Tide win the 2010 national championship, Cody was drafted in the second round. He started only one game as a rookie, in part because he was too heavy and had a questionable work ethic.
During the offseason, Cody dropped 25 pounds to 335. He stepped in for veteran Kelly Gregg, who was cut in a salary-cap move, and immediately became a force in the middle of Baltimore's defensive line.
About the only drawback of his weight loss is that he might have to get a new nickname to replace ''Mount Cody.''
Baltimore hosts Houston on Sunday.
