Oklahoma State exercised four decades of anguish as the Cowboys defeated Nebraska for the first time since 1961, 24-21 in Stillwater, Okla. Quarterback Josh Fields completed 17 passes for 192 yards, with 11 catches and 134 yards going to wide receiver Rashaun Woods. Nebraska’s Jammal Lord posted a one-yard touchdown run with two minutes to play, but the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds. Later that season the Cowboys would upset No. 4 Oklahoma in Stillwater, marking the first time in school history that Oklahoma State defeated longtime Big 8 powers Nebraska and Oklahoma in the same season.
