Chip Kelly picked Philadelphia because they were stocked on offense, and it’s the type of personnel that fits his wide open offense. One facet is the deep threat, where in Oregon it was De'Anthony Thomas, in Philly it will be DeSean Jackson.
That should make Eagles fans excited because Jackson is one of the premier deep threats in the game. Now he will get even more chances to break games open, and Kelly’s offense won’t allow many double teams, so expect a lot of big plays.
“Kind of similar to what DeAnthony Thomas was doing at Oregon. He’s like a little brother to me. I actually talked to him," Jackson said of Thomas. "He was passing on information to me, like I’m going to be pumped up and psyched to be in that offense.
It just keeps defenses off guard any time you go in motion, fake play-action, go down the field. There’s just so many things you can do,” via Jeff McLane of philly.com.
“He called me and was very excited. I could tell in his voice,” Jackson said. “He was like, ‘Let me know when you’re back in Philly so we can just talk fact to face.’ I actually talked to Pat Shurmur. He was my coach when I first got to Philly. He’s excited, as well.”
