Hail Redskins:
Now that the 2011 season is in the books, where do we stand, and where do we go from here?
Let’s start with this undeniable fact. We still do not nearly have enough talent to compete successfully within our own Division. And at that, we are in one of the weakest Divisions in the NFL. The Giants won the division with 9 wins. Any thoughts of the NFC Beast are simply not realistic. That cuts both ways. It means we have less far to go to become competitive in our division; but it also means we are even further from the elite teams of the NFC. We need talent, and a lot more of it. That has implications for the upcoming off season, both in the draft and free agency.Another thought is that while getting a franchise QB to lead the team is clearly Job one, solving that alone is not going to do enough to move us towards respectability. But without that, we are simply drifting in circles, so any thoughts of building the team and then selecting a QB in 2013 are also not tenable....
