Found December 09, 2011 on Hail Redskins:
So, as I am driving late last night through Central Rural Washington on the way to my weekend job, I am asking myself, what else can I write that I haven’t already said a dozen times about this this team?  Well, there is something clarifying about highway driving late at night for me.  I find it a good time to collect my thoughts. Simply put, this is not an unlucky team; this is not a good team that has been decimated by injuries;  this is simply a bad team.  By that,  I don’t mean that all the players are bad, but the inescapable fact is that this team is playing sloppier football now, and there is a real question in my mind that the talent level has actually gone down from last year to this year.  Certainly, it appears the won-loss record is going to go down.  Last year, I think we had a half decent team that was brought low by poor quarterback play all year.  This year, it is more than that.  This year we are younger across the roster, but one can make a serious case ...

Rumors of Manning to the Redskins Resurface

Earlier today we mentioned an article by Bob Kravitz of the Indy Star that brought up the fact that the Colts won’t be able to keep Peyton Manning and draft Andrew Luck,  since both players would account for too much money against the cap at the quarterback position. Just a few week’s ago it was [...]

Redskins try to slow Brady, Patriots on Sunday

Washington's London Fletcher says it's not difficult to name the best quarterback he's ever faced: Tom Brady. The Redskins linebacker is speaking from experience. He has never missed a game in 14 NFL seasons, has started two Super Bowls and played in two Pro Bowls. He has dueled top quarterbacks from Dan Marino to Aaron Rodgers. ''Tom Brady is better than all...

Redskins Work Out P Ricky Schmitt As Insurance Policy

The Washington Redskins have free agent punter Ricky Schmitt in for a workout on Thursday to cover their bases. Punter Sav Rocca has been hobbled by a sprained left ankle this week, an injury he suffered when a defender ran into him during Sunday’s game. He didn’t practice Wednesday, and Schmitt could be an insurance policy in case Rocca isn’t able to play. The Redskins also are...

Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry will miss his second straight game Sunday because of a groin injury. Coach Mike Shanahan said Friday that Landry won’t suit up against the New England Patriots. It will be the fifth game Landry has missed this year and the third in four weeks. He sat out the first two games of the season with a sore hamstring and was later sidelined when he...

Redskins-Patriots: Key matchups to watch

The Washington Redskins on Sunday meet the New England Patriots for the ninth time in the history of the franchises. Washington owns a 6-2 record against New England, but the last time the teams faced off, the Patriots handed the Redskins a 52-7 thrashing in Foxborough. Under normal circumstances, the Redskins would have a tough time keeping up with the Patriots. New England this...

Redskins-Patriots: Five story lines to follow

The Washington Redskins on Sunday brace for the tall task of stopping the 9-3 New England Patriots, who boast one of the top offenses in the league and a defense that despite giving up yards rather freely, is hard to score against. It’s been a drama-filled week for the Redskins, who on Tuesday officially learned they will have to go without star tight end Fred Davis and franchise...

In the Face of Hardship, Bowen Overcomes

There isn’t an NFL player with more intestinal fortitude than Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen. One of Washington’s many free agent pickups this offseason, Bowen has experienced more hardship in a six month span than many of us might endure in our lifetimes. That’s why Bowen was the easy choice to win the team’s Ed Block Courage Award, which is given annually...
