Going into the AFC Divisional match up against the juggernaut Denver Broncos with future first ballot Hall of Fame Quarterback Peyton Manning at the helm, no one gave the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Flacco much hope. ESPN famously (for Ravens fans) put a cover on their website saying that retiring LB Ray Lewis’ “last game would be in Denver”. The odds on the game were heavily in favor of the Broncos. It was to the point that most “experts” figured that both teams should just save themselves the trouble and not play the game at all.
