Garrett Kaiser, the 334th best LB in the country, according to MaxPreps, is on his way to South Dakota to play college football this fall, and he’s going to have most of it paid for by a scholarship. Garrett’s father Jim saw his son’s ability to play football, looked at the escalating cost of a college education, put two and two together, and figured out a way to get his son an education without saddling him with crippling debt. Everyone is familiar with recruiting reels put together by high profile athletes, such as the famous Reggie Bush tape, but Kaiser took that same idea, and applied it to his son, and marketed him to various schools across the country. The goal was to get a scholarship, no matter where. No school was too big, and no school was too small. Garrett Kaiser’s football career will likely not extend past college, but he’ll be able to parlay the ability that he does have into a degree, and a career after that. Seems like he and his father have put together a smart gameplan for using the system, when all you hear about is the system using players.
