I might be in the minority, and crazy for this, but I'm typically a fan of Thom Brennaman. He has a distinct voice that definitely should be calling sports games and he'll forever remind me of one of my greatest sports memories. But what he did during yesterday's Lions-Vikings game is indefensible. Brennaman, paired up with Brian Billick (who is a weekly problem himself), made it very clear from the start of the game that the game's storyline, no matter how the actual game played out, was going to center around Detroit being dirty and undisciplined. There was no focus on the Minnesota Vikings player who pushed Stephen Tulloch's helmet back to the turf as Tulloch was trying to get up following his defensive touchdown (similar to Lions WR Titus Young's "punch" last week). There were zero mentions of Kyle Vanden Bosch getting mauled on every play. Only Detroit could do wrong.
