Peyton Manning's two biggest targets are a pair of promising young receivers who have already made their mark in the NFL despite spending lots of time on the sideline. Neither Demaryius Thomas nor Eric Decker has put together a complete season in the NFL - or, for that matter, a full offseason. Both missed much of the lead-up to their rookie year in 2010 with foot injuries. Last year there was the lockout, plus another injury for Thomas. Decker shined for two months last season but faded after Tim Tebow took over at quarterback for Kyle Orton. Thomas missed the first half of the season with a torn Achilles tendon and a shattered thumb but was unstoppable down the stretch. Now they're building a rhythm and rapport with Manning.

Peyton Manning gives 'short' answer to reporter's question

Peyton Manning may be wearing a new uniform this season but the Denver Broncos quarterback showed he still has his old sense of humor. Realistic expectations for 2012

Before the 2011 campaign began, fans had high expectations despite the late summer news of Peyton Manning's surgery. The Colts were coming off an admittedly disappointing 10-6 2010 season that was riddled with injuries, poor coaching decisions and another first-round playoff ejection. Most expected the Colts to return to their 2009 form and gain another shot at a Lombardi. Looking...

Broncos' restocked secondary gets high marks

More Pressure Than Ever Before for Alex Smith

One game erased seven years of mediocrity. One game got him a three year deal. One game made lots of fans forget those seven years, but is that one game enough. Coach Jim Harbaugh is already on record stating Alex is the starter with Kaepernick, Johnson and Tolzien competing to be his backup, nothing wrong with that. Last season Alex showed he can lead the team to the playoffs and...
