Well, we have one preseason game in the books. It was a pretty standard preseason game with ups and downs throughout the game. Some players impressed, some didn’t. They played a total of six snaps and went three and out in both of them. There was a slight scare when Michael Vick hit his thumb on Jason Kelce’s helmet during the second series. He received x-rays which turned out to be negative, but it’s hard not to be concerned about the guys health. Mike Kafka took over the reins once Vick made his exit. Kafka was less than impressive and there’s really not a whole lot more you can say about that. On a designed ...

QUICK SPIN: No Real Damage for Vick’s Hand…

Last night in the Eagles first preseason game their starting QB Michael Vick bashed his throwing hand off an offensive lineman's helmet on the follow through of an incomplete pass. It looked bad at that moment but fortunately X-Rays came back negative and Vick is expected to practice as early as Saturday.

Michael Vick leaves preseason opener with a thumb injury

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Thursday night’s preseason game early, after suffering a thumb injury to his throwing hand. The good news is that the x-rays came back negative.  I’m sure he has at least a sprain.  There’s always a possibility that there is ligament damage, but we won’t know unless he gets an MRI.

Michael Vick dedicates season to Garrett Reid

Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid told the media that he hoped his son, Garrett’s death would be a rallying point for those struggling with substance abuse.Michael Vick decided to take this a step further by stating: Our entire season will be dedicated to Garrett,” Michael Vick said, via Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “And I’m personally dedicating my season...

Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Line Update

Philadelphia Eagles offensive line update By SBRForum.com After he ruptured his Achilles heel for the second time, Jason Peters and the Eagles looked in big trouble for their offensive line. Last season, Michael Vick was sacked only 23 times, but being a mobile quarterback, he was hit a lot. Now that the Eagles lost Peters for the season, things are looking downward a little bit...

Philadelphia Eagles: Lack of Depth is a Concern Heading into 2012

Heading into the 2012 season the Philadelphia Eagles are lacking quality depth at a few key positions on offense. The biggest area of concern is the depth at quarterback given Michael Vick’s the injury...

Eagles preseason opener reveals Nick Foles should be Eagles’ #2 QB

The first Philadelphia Eagles preseason game of 2012 is in the books and the Eagles eeked out a 24-23 win over the Steelers. One thing was made abundantly clear during the game: Nick Foles should be Mick Vick’s backup over Mike Kafka. Kafka did nothing to assuage concerns about his viability as a backup for Vick, and a scare with the thumb on Vick’s throwing hand further impressed...

Falcon-Eyed: 5 Things I Want To See in Falcons vs. Ravens

First Off - Something I Don"t Want To See Tonight:     Well - that's if it were Matt Ryan, and not Michael Vick. If someone brought Michael Vick out into the middle of the field, slapped his old Falcons uniform on him, and broke his leg again...well...that'd be alright with me. Ultimately, just want to make sure everyone stays good and healthy for the next 21-22...

Eagles’ first team defense biggest disappointment in Eagles 24-23 win

The Eagles won its first preseason game over the Steelers, 24-23, on Alex Henery’s kick on Thursday night at the Linc. Yet, only the starters played the first quarter, Michael Vick early into the second quarter, but here is a few observations. Too early to judge Vick on two series, yet he was largely ineffective until he got his thumb hurt early in the second quarter. The defense...

Thanks to the Backups, Eagles Edge Steelers in Preseason Opener

AP Photo/ Michael Perez In a game dedicated to Garrett Reid, it was the Eagles' third and fourth-stringers who saved the day.  If we didn't know any better, we would have thought Nick Foles and Trent Edwards were the first and second string quarterbacks. Michael Vick and Mike Kafka were dreadful as the first and second team offenses failed to score...
