Three Jets Ruled Out vs. Bills, WR1 Garrett Wilson's Availability in Jeopardy

The New York Jets already know they'll be without three injured players on gameday against the Buffalo Bills and there could be more.

Jets' top wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who injured his right elbow last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, may not be available for the November 19 matchup in Orchard Park. The WR1 has been on the injury report as a limited participant thus far this week.

"He will show up on the injury report," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh on Friday. "I'm not gonna speak for him or the docs, but there's a couple hurdles he has to clear."

Wilson temporarily exited the Week 10 game against the Raiders while having his right arm examined on the sideline. The 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year eventually returned to action wearing a white sleeve over his right arm.

While Saleh was optimistic but unsure about Wilson's gameday availability, the third-year head coach ruled out three players ahead of Sunday's AFC East road test. Offensive tackle Billy Turner, backup linebacker Chazz Surratt and special teams ace Sam Eguavoen have not participated in practice thus far this week and will be unavailable on gameday.

Turner will miss a second straight game due to a surgically-repaired finger while Surratt's ankle injury will keep him out for the third week in a row. Eguavoen, who has appeared in all nine games, injured his hip against the Raiders.

Wilson's potential absence is significant cause for concern, especially considering that he has been the team's most-productive weapon in the pass game thus far this season. After a game-high 93 yards on nine receptions in Las Vegas, the second-year pro ranks eighth amongst AFC leaders in receiving yards (642) and is on pace for a second straight 1,100-yard campaign.

In the Week 1 win over Buffalo, Wilson's acrobatic fourth-quarter touchdown catch tied the score at 13-13 with 4:55 left in regulation. He caught all five of his targets for 34 total yards in the season opener.

The official injury report must be submitted to the NFL office by 4:00 pm ET on Friday.
