This afternoon, a pair of 3-8 teams will square off in Oakland. The Browns are fresh off their 8 forced turnover effort against the Steelers that snapped a 2-game losing streak, while the Raiders lost big to the Bengals 34-10 to extend their losing skid to 4 games.  Heavy rain has hit the Oakland area over the last couple days, so field conditions are expected to have a palpable effect on this game. Here’s three things I think the Browns need to take care of if they hope to take home a win from the west coast. 1. Win the turnover battle – In the five games that the Browns have won the turnover battle (8th in turnover margin in the league), they are 3-2, including the last minute losses to Indianapolis and Philadelphia. Likewise, Oakland is 1-8 when they don’t win the turnover battle (25th in turnover margin). This is an opportunistic defense that has playmakers at every level now. While the eight turnovers last week won’t soon be duplicated, it’s not a stretch to think the Browns ca...

Cleveland Browns Game 12: Winners and Losers

Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers. What’s this? Consecutive weeks in which we get to run this feature after a win? Interesting. A guy could get used to this… WINNER: Josh Gordon. Before we get too crazy, we all agree that Oakland’s defensive backfield is pretty bad. That said, this was...

It was a big moment in the game on Sunday. The Raiders had the momentum after pulling to within a field goal mid-way through the 4th quarter. That’s when the Browns went on a 14 play, 94 yard drive consuming 6:04 of game clock. Browns looking for first win streak of 2012

No matter what happens the rest of the way, the Oakland Raiders will finish without a winning record for a 10th consecutive season. The way the Cleveland Browns have struggled on the road, it appears they're headed toward a fifth straight losing season. Oakland will try to avoid its first five-game losing streak in five seasons - and extend the Browns' franchise-record 12...

The Browns are in Oakland today for the best chance to break their NFL-long road losing streak (12 games and counting) that they’ll have until 2013. Also a chance for their first winning streak since last September. The quote of the day is from the PD’s Dennis Manoloff: “It is difficult in the NFL to lose three straight games by 21 or more points, but the Raiders have done...
