Cornerback Walter Thurmond is returning from his four-game suspension just in time to join the Seattle Seahawks for the postseason.
But Thurmond has lost the starting spot he had before the suspension arrived.
Thurmond is expected to be activated to Seattle's roster before Sunday's game against St. Louis. He spent the past four weeks working out on his own and said Friday he was appreciative of his teammates for understanding he made a mistake.
Thurmond was suspended four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Byron Maxwell has started in place of Thurmond at cornerback and played well. Maxwell will get the start Sunday against the Rams.

I want to see more offensive firepower out of the Seattle Seahawks. But what I want and what really happens are usually two very different things.
After a strong finish last year, I’ve been hoping Russell Wilson would develop his crew into a top-flight scoring machine. They struggled to score 10 points against the Cardinals, settled for 23 points against the Giants and couldn’t...
Sort of upstaged old Bob Griffin with this one.
The Seattle Seahawks will try to win the NFC West again and get home-field advantage with a 49ers loss. However, panic levels are rising after the Seahawks, who looked unbeatable three weeks ago, now suddenly seem extremely vulnerable.
What a tumultuous and lovely time Week 17 is for the NFL. There are divisional games galore, with playoff implications at the heart of seemingly every matchup. The same is true for the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, when they host the St. Louis Rams at CenturyLink Field. This crucial game for the Hawks begins at 4:25 ET on FOX.
Seattle struggled mightily the last time these two met...
Full Circle – You gotta love this guy
It’s hard to imagine pulling a 180 on how you feel about a player on your favorite team. Face it, no matter what team you root for there is always one guy who is a starter, and you think the team could do better at that position.
Over the past two years or so for me, that guy was the starting right tackle for the Seattle Seahawks, Breno...
Russell Wilson said it best this week after an abysmal performance in which the Seahawks lost their first home game in his career. “It’s a championship game this week,” second-year quarterback Russell Wilson said after one of his least effective performances (11 of 27 for 108 yards, with one TD pass and one interception, for a season […]

Luke Willson stands 6-foot-5.
The Seattle Seahawks tight end weighs 252 pounds ... including his huge heart.
When Baseball Canada's Greg Hamilton called Willson earlier this month to tell him about the program's annual fund-raiser, Willson reacted as quickly as if he was turning on a button-hook pattern.
He donated a football package to be auctioned to the highest bidder...
The Seattle Seahawks head into their season finale against the division-rival St. Louis Rams with serious question marks in their receiving core, according to their official web site. Wide receiver Percy Harvin continues to miss practice due to a hip injury leaving his postseason status in question. Plus, receiver Jermaine Kearse is now being listed as questionable for Sunday’s...
Seahawks Fantasy Start + Sit vs. Rams
For some of you, the Fantasy Football season is over – congrats to you winners and better luck next year to those who didn’t win the money.
For some others, Week 17 represents the culminating week – the time when everything is on the line.
For those of you depending on some Seattle Seahawks last week, you are probably left wondering what...
With another chance to clinch the NFC West title and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks are focused on bouncing back from their first home loss against an opponent they've dominated there.
Fixing their offensive struggles, however, could be difficult against the St. Louis Rams' defense.
The Seahawks look to secure the conference's top seed...
Seattle Seahawks Qb Russell Wilson made sure his entire offense was good for the Christmas holiday. Russell bought them all an XBox One.
Russell Wilson knows that it takes a team effort for an NFL offense to be successful.
To show his appreciation for his teammates’ hard work and production this season, the second-year quarterback bought his entire offense an XBox One video game console for Christmas.
With the help of his offensive line, running backs and wide receivers, Wilson has thrown for more yards with a higher...
