NFL Pro Bowl rosters were announced yesterday, with the Chicago Bears honorees being: Brian Urlacher (Eighth) Lance Briggs (Seventh) Charles Tillman (First) Matt Forte (First) Corey Graham (Special Teamer, First) Briggs is a perennial honoree, making seven straight appearances since 2005. Pretty impressive. Too bad Urlacher missed the cut in 2004 and 2007-2009, otherwise he would lead by far all Bears in history for Pro Bowl appearances. I’m pleasantly surprised on the Forte selection. While he was leading the NFL in total yards when he went down with an injury in week 13, the fact that he missed the last four weeks of the season and won’t finish with 1,000 rushing yards would normally preclude a selection. And I’m most happy for Peanut Tillman. Now in his ninth NFL season, Tillman has exemplified an NFL player both at his position and off the field. Glad to see him finally honored. Exactly why I told the Chicago Sun-Times that I believe he’s the best ...

Charles Tillman's Daughter Doesn't Want the Pro Bowl

Charles Tillman is finally going to a Pro Bowl. Nnine seasons into his career the Bears DB will make the trip to the Pacific Islands for a not-terribly-entertaining all star football game. Since this will be his first trip to Hawaii as a Pro-Bowler, he plans on bringing his family. An escape to Hawaii is normally a dream come true for anyone trapped in a Chicago winter, but...

Five Bears Go Pro Bowling

The Chicago Bears didn’t make it to the “Bowl” that counts, but five players were selected for a nice consolation prize, the Pro Bowl, including a trio of first-timers. That's so Bears: RB issues in a passing league

Steve Rosenbloom: When you consider his two fumbles, Kahlil Bell was mediocre against the Packers. Matt Forte's knee injury makes him an extremely risky investment. Which means the Bears need to start all over in looking for a starting tailback.

Kahlil Bell Has Bright Future in Chicago

With the Bears officially eliminated from the playoff picture, Chicago's focus naturally turns to next season. Assuming that Matt Forte is a healthy, better-paid member of the team, will Marion Barber or Kahlil Bell be the back-up? It's hard not to be high on Bell after he has stepped up since Forte's injury. In the last four games, his production has increased...
