PLAYERS: Tim Couch
The first weekend of May is fast approaching and we all pretty much know what that means. The great Kentucky Derby race followed by a mediocre boxing match. (Get it, no Pacquiao and Mayweather fight). While my usual drink of choice for the race is Jack Daniels, this year the switch will be made over to Maker’s Mark if I can get my hands on one of these charitable Tim Couch bottles. Not only can I make myself a mint julep, but I can feel good about drinking one knowing that the proceeds of the sales will go to the Gill Heart Institute at UK HealthCare. Maker’s Mark will produce 20,000 numbered, limited edition bottles and they should be available statewide Friday April 6, opening day of Keeneland’s Spring 2012. So go out and purchase one, and if anyone in Kentucky wants to send me one it would be greatly appreciated.
