Washington Redskins running back Tim Hightower is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March and he’s made it clear that he’d love to remain in Washington.
“I called it home growing up here, and to be able to call it home for my job, that would be great,” said Hightower who’s originally from Virginia.
Hightower would love to stay at home and re-establish his career.
“I love this organization,” he said. “Coming back here made me realize how much it would mean for me to be here. Getting a chance to play here and be around family, and just go places and be around fans and this city, it was special for me. This is somewhere I would like to play a long time.”
Hightower did end up on season ending injured reserve this past season, after tearing his ACL.
“I know I’ll be ready when the season starts and I know I’ll be 100 percent full speed,” he said. “That’s the only date in my head.”
