It wasn't the 30,000 people many believed would show up, Sunday morning, for Easter church service in Georgetown, TX, but enough people still showed up to hear New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow speak during the church service.
As reported last week, Tebow would deliver a 20 minute speak at the Georgetown Celebration Church, Sunday morning.
Pastor of the Celebration Church -- Joe Champion -- talked about the expereince of having Tebow at the church, "It's the Pope and Tebow right now. We didn't have enough room to handle the Pope".
It's estaimated that about 15,000 people showed up for the Easter morning service.
During his speech, Tebow took shots at professional athletes who insist they are not role models for the young generation who watch them, "Yes you are. You're just not a good one".
Pastor Champion also asked Tebow what he thought needed to change culturally in America, as Tebow replied, "First and foremost is what this country was based on: one nation under god. The more that we can get back to that", Tebow said which followed with the crowds applause.
UPDATE -- 4/8/11 at 7:00 PM
TMZ is reporting that after Tim Tebow's speech, hundreds of people left, not even staying for Pastor Champion to finish up the church service.

If there’s anyone who mixes faith and sports, (and with it, intentionally or unintentionally, politics and sports) it’s Tim Tebow. Those who believe sports should be kept from being used as a political platform need to cast the first stone at Tim Tebow, as he consistently commits that act over and over again.
It was previously projected that 30,000 would come see Tebow preach...
As the Jets discuss the possibility of a return to HBO's Hard Knocks, it raises the question was the acquisition of Tim Tebow strictly a football decision or in part a public relations stunt?

One of the bright spots for the Lightning this season, a team that was troubled with keeping the goal out of their own net. Even though Stamkos scored 60, I think Malkin may have had the best season. Still – only 19 players have score 60 goals. It’s quite an achievement.
With a strong draft day, could the Washington...
